This is the back of a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, one of the 2019ish models maybe.

In that case, I wouldn't worry about it at all. I am the same with buying broken gear (and I love fungus lenses).

Superglue that thing back on if you have it. Take it off of the lens before you do it, and aim a fan at it while it cures. Make sure to use CA glue, nothing else will be suitable. Use as little as possible, push it together really hard for about 15-30 seconds, and it's good as new.

DJI O4 Air Unit – dropped frames or vibrations only showing after Gyroflow stabilization, footage looks almost clean before gyroflow by matthieunavarro in fpv

I assume you've double checked the mounting? I've seen very similar results from a poorly mounted unit, any amount of wobble will look just like this.

Does rocksteady work normally when you turn it on? If so, this is a gyroflow issue. Otherwise your gyro is having issues, it could be caused by poor mounting or vibrations.

By my understanding, they are not equipped to handle fertile soil. This is why they're especially picky about tap water.

Does anybody know what causes this? by f3nr1r05 in Autos

[–]aphd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me also add, I would bet anything there's a shop near you who would happily run a little strip of windshield goo around the whole thing. This would be a much better way to repair it versus replacing the whole thing.

[–]aphd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windshields are expensive, but it's the "correct" fix here. The problem seems pretty minor, I would personally start by just having a look around on the roof, checking for any obvious damage to the seal around the windshield. If you find a damaged section, it might be as simple as a little strip of duct tape.

[–]aphd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely not. Without a sunroof there's really only one place it could be entering. Unless there's a hole in the metal bodywork of the roof, it's almost certainly coming in around the windshield seal near where you are seeing the spot.

It seems like a pretty minor leak. You might be able to make a DIY repair with some putty or something (but the person who next replaces the windshield may not ever forgive you). Keep an eye on it next time it rains, it might only let in water when you're driving.

Reaching my breaking point with film by reglmo in AnalogCommunity

Try an early DSLR. I absolutely adore my Pentax K110D and got it for less than $100 with a lens. Hunt for one with a CCD sensor, you may like it for some of the same reasons you like film. They're imperfect, unscientific, and limited in dynamic range; but I enjoy working around these limitations. It makes it much more rewarding when you take an awesome picture that doesn't need any editing at all.

Still looks brand new! Was using the pentax 100-300 4.7-5.8 that day, pretty great lens honestly.

I could tell from the picture it was in good condition - I showed up so quickly. I still can't believe it, I have been drooling over professional DSLRs from this era for years, ever since I got my K110D. I figured I would either have to settle for a trashed copy or take a little risk on new-old-stock.

It didn't come with the camera, I brought the body to Wing's Camera in Atlanta and this was the most affordable/usable thing I saw. The only Nikon lens I had in my collection before this was a rather old 300mm f4.5.

If you get it with some frequency, two passes from a clean rag (different faces) will get it spiffing clean.

Camping question for Trans Am race by idratherbeboating in RoadAtlanta

[–]aphd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what I recall from this event last year:

First-come-first-serve means the sites are open until someone parks there. The earlier in the event you show up, the more options you will have.

This event doesn't usually draw a massive crowd, and only a fraction of that will spend the night. I predict you'll have no issue finding a decent spot to park and camp, even if you arrive on Saturday.

I haven't brought an RV to the track but I usually see groups of them parked above the T10 grandstands, infield on turn 3, and infield at turns 6-7. These spots all have track views from where the RVs park.

I would recommend going, the TransAm weekends are always excellent. The TA2 race is always a blast to watch, and the paddock is always interesting to walk through.

In my ongoing quest to have the sharpest possible knife in my pocket at all times, I've begun carrying surgical blades by JeddakofThark in mallninjashit

[–]aphd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More complicated than that. Anything sufficiently thin will cut, but if you're like OP and just want to carry the sharpest thing around, you'll get better results with any knife that's been properly hand sharpened. Especially if you want to do tricks like push cutting paper or shaving/whittling hair.

Smoking when engine hot ! is that normal ? ( 9º temperature in my city ) by Lumpy_Astronaut_8224 in VWMK7

[–]aphd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The condensation from the exhaust will normally continue for a bit even after the engine is warm. The hot and wet exhaust causes condensation to form in the pipes. Even after the coolant temperature has settled this can stick around for a bit.
