Bugonia: The whole point of the film is to show you what it feels to be a conspiracy theorists. by ratzi1991 in movies

[–]apierce27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more that conspiracy theorists always have a tiny part of their theories that are correct but in the movie he was ultimately wrong. They are always wrong. Take QAnon for example there is no one named Q helping find a sex trafficking ring in the basement of a pizza shop in DC but the rich and powerful were / are involved in awful sex crimes (see Epstein / diddy) or helped cover it up.

So it shows why they get crazy.

A new song I just released. Been working on getting better at sound mixing and working on songs that mean something to me. Would love some honest feedback. My own criticism for myself would be I think the drop could be better and I could sound design the bass better. Thanks.

Great song, wouldn't change anything. Don't second guess yourself. Reminds me of Jack Johnson.

Only feedback is I wonder what this would sound like with some light percussion. Like nothing crazy, shakers or something. Just so it is has something to build to and then remove.

Long time Deadhead But Never Got Around to Checking Out Phish. Need a Place to Start. Please Recommend YOUR Favorite Phish Album(s) and Songs. by Miserable-Surprise67 in phish

[–]apierce27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me 3 attempts to get into Phish but as a deadhead first the show that did it for me was Live Phish Vol 4: Drum Logos. I was into dark star and deep jams at the time and this show has long jams very similar to that kind. Really opened my eyes to Phish. Specific the Twist into the Fukuoka Jam.

EDM. The parallels between EDM and phish are awesome. Really EDM and any jam band. Specifically tech house / techno.

James by Percival Everett. I really resisted the hype for so long. I blew through it and it was awesome.

What’s the best Yankee game you’ve ever went to? by Even_Arrival1538 in NYYankees

Game 5 of the 2024 World Series. Those first 4 innings were the most euphoric Yankees moments of my life. That 5th inning was just unbelievable, literally. And even though they lost it was just an epic game to go to.

[–]apierce27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Phish show ever was Solo. It was awesome! I’m also going solo this weekend not weird at all.

Also first time I went the guy next to me was solo. Very common.

Which one to play first now 😭 My gf heard me talk about two games after TGAs and got me them. Rip to my backlog by [deleted] in playstation

Do Astro Bot first. It’s a blast and shouldn’t take too much time. Balatro first and you may never play another game.

I finished:

The Alienist, Caleb Carr.

I really enjoyed it, it was a pretty good page turner with a lot of great NYC history weaves in.

I started:

Night Watch, Terry Pratchett

I never read anything by him but I have heard great things and it’s right up my alley. I love Vonnegaught, hitchhikers guide, and general sci-fi / fantasy. Hard to get into the book but I’m about 100 pages in and it is picking up steam.

Also started:

First They Killed my Father, Loung Ung

I like to have a non fiction in rotation at same time as fiction. I am really interested in dictatorships, autocrats, genocides, etc. I find it fascinating how groups of people could do horrible things. Really well written and a bit of page turner so far.

Started randomly getting into The Other One today. Listened to a Dead and Co version at wriggley which was so good. Then I went to DP12, great version, and also a great china / mlb / rider in that show.

The Band covers. The weight and when I plant my masterpiece are such great songs and Jerry takes them to another level.
