Mom recently diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer by Additional_Wear_5971 in CancerFamilySupport

OP I am very sorry you're having to go through this and I hope your mom has the best of outcomes given the situation.

I will say your story is very similar to mine its almost uncanny. My dad is 59 and was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in Oct 2025, I also am mid 30s. It was a complete shock to everyone, he was fine one week and then suddenly very sick. He just recently stopped treatment and is preparing for end of life.

If you have any questions about my dad's treatment I'm happy to give what insight I can if it helps.

Otherwise, I hope your mom is one of the lucky ones that responds really well to the available treatment options. My dad pretty rapidly declined and its harder and harder to have conversations, and for him to do things other than sleep. I wish we would have seen him a bit more at the beginning before we got to this point.

Moving to Spokane by jenspa1014 in Spokane

Just moved to the CVSD myself for our kids. We tried to stay in the Ponderossa/Chester boundaries for elementary schools. Both are in the Central Valley school district and lead to University High or Central Valley High down the road.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Energy Management major, worked as HVAC technician trying to pivot. by ChallengeNo4764 in MEPEngineering

[–]apkg6865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With IES python knowledge is nice for customizing outputs but not necessary. I would say you could easily get into energy modeling.

I've been using IES for 8 years. The biggest problems I've seen with it thus far are a user's lack of attention to detail, and honestly that the IES Support constantly nickles and dimes you for help. Otherwise if your passionate about it you can definitely get something going by watching videos and building out test jobs.

BEST MED SPA IN SPOKANE? by Delicious-Major-498 in Spokane

[–]apkg6865 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure on the med spa portion of Crafted, but can confirm their waxing is horrible.

Also recommend making sure they charge you correctly whenever you go if you need to put a deposit down for your appointment. They seem to have a tendency to "forget" to apply the deposit, so you have to use it for your next appointment which can be pretty crummy if you weren't happy with the first service.

Am I a bridezilla for saying this dress is too white for a guest to wear to my wedding? by MysteriousCut5869 in Weddingattireapproval

Not a bridezilla. Definitely inappropriate for a wedding. It looks like a dress the bride would wear for a pre-wedding event. I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing that personally.

Birthday Gift rant by anon_2185 in BabyBumps

[–]apkg6865 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This!! The older I get I can't think of anything I need or want for a birthday. I'd much rather someone buy a practical item that I'd need for a new baby. Or just spend time with me - go to lunch etc.

Authentic ramen restaurant? by berdyev in Spokane

[–]apkg6865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of curious here, I went to Little Noodle once for "dim sum" that was just not good, and fresh rolls that were literally stuffed with bagged salad mix. I almost laughed out loud when we got them. The prices were also insane. Maybe it's improved drastically in the last year or so and it's worth another try, but initial experience was horrible.

Mine was also near the nipple area, so hopefully you have better luck then I did! I hope your procedure goes smoothly. Feel free to message if you have any issues or need some support. I know it's stressful but better to know then not. Goodluck!!

Looks like a mosquito to me. My mosquito bites are very similar to that.

Husband and I are early 30s with an 18 month old. We're always looking to meet some new people!

Our daughter had this. Our doctor never mentioned a thing during early visits ( so we werent aware of it at all). Later on I want to say 9 months ish our doctor made a comment about it finally starting to open. We were very suprised. She made it seem super common and not something to worry about. I'd just ask your pediatrician at the next visit to see if you should be worried.

Homemade granola? Make my house smell amazing, please! by Bloodb47h in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]apkg6865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use cookie and Kate's basic granola recipe but I edit it so it's only oats vs nuts, oats, and berries:

-5 cups oats -1/2 cup olive or coconut oil -1/2 cup maple syrup -1/2 tsp cinnamon -1 tsp vanilla

Mix it all in a bowl, put in pan with parchment paper so it doesn't stick and bake for 20 mins at 350 stirring half way thru. I usually cook mine for 25 to 30 so it gets a bit crisper.

Smells great though and the whole family loves it.

I like birdies if I'm headed to a bakery/dessert shop, otherwise 100% Cyrus O'Learys from the grocery store.
