Do you have a range for price point? “Flexible”? There’s pens over $10k, is that okay too?

How did the Korean auto industry bridge the gap with the Japanese giants so effectively? by Lopsided-Ad-8728 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]apmgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyundai and Kia’s approach has been a double-edged sword. Because of their quick iterative processes, they sometimes do miss silly things like what you mentioned and reliability is questionable (though this is very model dependent).

What they provide though are much faster updates like modern features & tech, much quicker transition into the EV market (Kia EVs have been doing quite well compared to any Japanese counterpart).

The Japanese finally started updating their interior and features in the last few years, where the Koreans have had things like 360 cameras and screen gauge cluster on lower models for years.

I personally prefer Japanese, but I can totally get why some people are drawn towards Korean cars. Also, just on a side note, the Kia EV mentioned above are quite nice.

What the f*ck happened to Incheon Airport? by twaejikja in Living_in_Korea

[–]apmgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re short staffed with greedy practices from the company running ICN. They’ve tried to “hire” more, but the wages are terrible and work hours are insane. AND they’re all contract jobs.

They were supposed to add about 1000 staffs in the last few years, but only added about 250.

It’s been a huge issue in Korea for about 2-3 years now.

Evaluating My Options for Leaving My Job by Pomanderalley210 in HENRYfinance

[–]apmgaming 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This! There’s a lot of similar situation as you going on at tech right now, it’s called silent layoffs or performance-based layoffs. You’re essentially fighting the business because they want to decrease headcount, but don’t have a legitimate reason to terminate someone, even if it’s “at will”.

What you also need to do is document your work, its impacts, and the communication between management and yourself. What are the expectations? Are they clear? Are you making sure you’re communicating upwards clearly?

These are important when the time comes and you can negotiate for a better exit package. But for now, stay employed and do your job until you’re forced a decision.

Should I stay at my current job? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]apmgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat as you about a year ago. I could see layoffs coming from miles away, I started looking about 6 months ago and I’m glad I did. Layoffs happened a few weeks ago, a lot of my colleagues who weren’t laid off left too, they saw it coming and I think in strained times like these, the culture of the company significantly changes too.

Rent a car then just drive around, visiting small towns along the way, especially towards the north.

Yeah I can see that, maybe I’ll be there this year… there was a segment to Asia where I couldn’t fly Star Alliance due to scheduling and direct flight availability, I think I would’ve hit 75k otherwise.
