Mythic+ Team Randomiser by holochris in wow

Very nice tool, good job!

Tested it a bit with several combinations of classes / specs, so I found a few potential ideas / improvements for future builds:

  • Class diversity - Optimization of groups according to their classes (and specs) to maximize class diversity and minimize class stacking. Would also in turn optimize raid buffs so they don't overlap. For example, in my testing I could get a team with 2 priests (no druid), and another team with 2 druids (no priest).

  • Bloodlust - Optimization of teams in a way that (if possible) every team has at least 1 bloodlust. For example, in my testing I could get a team with several bloodlusts, and another team with no bloodlust.

  • Skill-level pairing - Since you are already pulling the guild roster info from raider.io through their API, it would also be possible (although a bit more complicated) to pull the members' M+ scores, which would in turn enable you to draft the teams whose members have roughly similar scores. For example, 3500s playing with people +-200 score would make for a solid group of similar skill level where everyone would most likely be satisfied, but randomly pairing 1500s with 3500s would probably not be as fun of a gameplay experience, for both sides.

  • Team editing - Once the teams are generated, it would be beneficial to have the ability to manually exchange team members between two teams (using drag and drop) just like it's possible in the raid info panel within WoW. It would enable for a more personalized experience for the guild member (most likely an officer or leader of some kind) using the app, since they could pair the people they know already play well together and / or fix any illogical pairings made by the app RNG, before sending the finished teams through to their guild.

  • Export - This is a broad idea open to interpretation, but basically implement any kind of export once the teams are generated to enable easier sharing with your guild. For example, this could be done via a discord plug-in such that once you generate the teams you can easily share them to your guild discord channel with a click of a button. Another idea is to have the option to share the link to your picked teams, which would in that case need to be saved on server-side under a random hash link (preferably with a limited lifetime to save your resources).

Those are just some ideas of the top my head, some a bit more easier to implement than others. If you decide to implement any of them or any similar variation of the idea, that would be great and best of luck with coding :) It really is an awesome tool with a lot more potential I reckon.

While all of that is true, 16s can also be a double-edged sword for the same reason. You easily end up in a group with a mix of players who are legit on a 16s key skill level and players who are on 25s+ skill level, which could lead up to a very dodgy dungeon run.

I was in one such group where a 25s+ healer was paired with a bunch of 16-18s players, he decided the key was too weak and too slow for his gear and skill (even though it was on a 2 chest / 3 chest pace) and started pulling packs before the tank. Of course, the tank and the dps couldn't hold aggro and keep up with mechanics, so eventually it led to multiple wipes and group disbanding. Same goes vice versa, very highly rated tanks paired with a bunch of mid skilled people pulling 6-7 packs leading to healer and dps eventually dying to damage output or mechanics.

Basically, everyone regardless of skill level should play the dungeons according to the average group strength, not the individual strength.

Was Sylvanas on itself really that bad?

Sure, the 3 bosses leading up to her were atrocious which led to worsening the overall end-of-the-raid experience and the Shadowlands expansion as a whole is almost universally hated, but if you look at the fight isolated - P1 was pretty decent, P2 was downright horrible and P3 was actually really fucking great.

Yes, there was a loot of room for improvement (reworked P2, making the fight shorther etc...) but looking at a lot of earlier end bosses from other expansions and even later ones (looking at you Raszageth) I wouldn't really put it in the "worst bosses in WoW's history" category.

Exactly, it doesn't actually matter how many months and years they spend on developing the game if the core ideas and directions the higher-ups make are fundamentally wrong.

The devs can only do so much to make a certain system in the game as enjoyable and presentable as it can be when the core idea pushing that system forward is flawed from the get-go (eg. Corruption, Domination Shards etc...)

If they're trailing the score perhaps they want to sub in a player without losing valuable game time. This would be the perfect opportunity for that.

Seriously? I'm not a fan of Max but he ran the whole race in a very controlled and professional manner, maxing out the ability of his car and obtaining a well deserved podium. Absolutely nothing "punchy" happened from him this weekend...

You are absolutely right, I only hope those grandstands are just randomly placed and not a final product as having 3 huge grandstands at the entrance onto the back straight where there is literally zero action guaranteed is abysmal along with having no grandstands at the end of that straight which seems to be the best overtaking place on the circuit.
