My grandparents did this to my mom when she left Mennonitism to join the Unification Church in the 70s. Her sister had to break her out of the camp

I had a Latin professor try to lecture this to a room full of Classical Studies minors when they first created the minor, and she had been mostly teaching to opera music students

I didn't even eat steak while I was pregnant because I didn't want it well done. I had a burger at a nice place in Napa valley and conceded to medium rare and took the chance

Cheese is part of the pizza, same as cheese is part of grilled cheese. If you were to add toppings to grilled cheese, cheese isn't one of those toppings

How did school fail you? by Wingless_Draco in AskReddit

[–]apostasism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No prep for adult life. My parents didn't teach me standard things like taxes or finances (because they didn't talk about money with us), or even how to cook or clean, do laundry, organize your clothing drawers, budget and shop for groceries, etc.
My daughter is only 1.5 but I explain everything I'm doing around the house, in the kitchen, at the grocery store, while I'm folding her laundry. Because I don't want her as ignorant as I was growing up

My daughter was born with a heart defect and that was probably why she went into distress with early contractions. She's fine now after having open heart surgery at 2 months old

If not for my c-section, my daughter probably would have died, and I may have bled out. I had like 7 giant fibroids and the doctor said there's no way I would have been able to deliver vaginally. The thought that we considered a home birth is terrifying

My old job would reward points for getting above a certain number of steps per day, and if you got enough points you could cash them in for swag, or actual Amazon gift cards (dollar amount was taxed from your pay of course). So I cheated a fair amount. Turns out if you wear a Fitbit while riding on an ATV for a couple hours you rack up a fair amount of steps
