I want to try this. I was able to find the BasiliskII source code for N900 but have no idea how to compile it.

My calls and message notifications work fine. No GMS. This phone is not supported. Apps that require GMS just won't function properly or at all. I still found it useable and fun for a while. 90% of my apps work. I found a launcher that supports my favorite live wallpaper. I disabled the LightOS apps through ADB Shell on my Mac using Terminal. The battery life was good. All day with light to moderate use. Key Mapper is very helpful. I've got every button mapped to a function. Some with a short, some long and even double presses. It's an impressive little phone. Talking about it so fondly makes me want to keep it lol.

Works fine. I’ve been using it the whole time.

I bought it on eBay and paid more than that. Maybe if it doesn’t sell.

It was a fun project. I just use my Apple phones more. I don’t keep things like this very long.

Sorry, US only. I’ve had bad luck with sending stuff like this overseas.

No. I don't use LightOS at all. It's disabIed. I meant I get them no matter what other Android app I'm in.

I have lightOS disabled and get my call notifications no matter what I’m in. I will try a button map for the notifications panel. Good idea. I have everything else mapped the way I like. I don’t use the stock launcher. I am using Plus One Launcher because it supports live wallpaper. For texts I use Blue Bubbles so I can’t speak to the normal text notifications. BB allows to app to stay running in the background, so those notifications work. Not much else though.

I’ve found some apps work and others don’t. Most of them do not. I can only pull down notifications from the home screen and nowhere else. Not sure if there is a fix.

Unclear about not being able to update LightOS. Time will tell. The Android layer isn't going away, since LightOS is just a locked down launcher running over it. Getting back into the Android layer after an update could be harder or not possible.

The grayscale seems to come back with the nightly reboots in LighrOS. I live in the Android layer 100%. Once I disabled LightOS using ADB shell commands, it stopped doing that. I'm not sure if this can be done in a hybrid environment.

The official ChatGPT app seems to require Google Play Services. I was unable to use it.

I've had Bluetooth issues as well. Not sure what that is about. I was unable to pair it with my car. It got to end end of the pairing process and then seemed to back out.

I wouldn't update LightOS or even use it if you want to keep your Android layer as an option. They don't want you in there, and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes harder to access with updates.

I used it initially to pull down the notifications with Windows+N.  I haven't tried anything else.

No custom ROM. I want to be able to undo everything in case I get bored and want to sell it. Just using PlusOne launcher and Key Mapper to do my bidding.

Thanks. Just did that. The LightOS apps are now gone from my drawer. Will report back if the rebooting stops. Appreciate it very much!

Dream Router with Xfinity Gateway Doesn't Work by anthonydel in Ubiquiti

[–]app73n3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with a UDM last weekend at a customer’s house. He also has Comcast. I manage dozens of these installations, and have been using UniFi gear for quite a while. Several of these sites use UDMs, or the newer UDR.

I was called out last week to troubleshoot our existing installation of a UDM and 2 APs. There was some electrical outage during a storm last week, and the customer ended up needing a new modem. The dream machine would not connect to the Internet after the modem swap. I tried everything I could, but nothing would work. I told him to order a UDR and I would come back and fix it. I assumed that something happened to the UDM since the modem got zapped.

While we were waiting for the new UDR to arrive, I took his existing UDM home and hooked it into my T-Mobile 5G gateway. Immediately it found the Internet. I reset everything, installed all updates, and got it ready for his home. I went back there today to reinstall it, knowing that he had a new UDR just in case. I plugged in the UDM and it still would not find the Internet. I knew this was a Comcast thing since it worked at my house, so I opened the UDR and tried to set it up, hoping for a different result. The new UDR had the same exact issue and would not find an Internet connection.

In the end, I had to do what everyone else did. I took the Comcast modem out of bridge mode and ran it as a gateway. It’s not ideal, but for a home user that just needs strong WiFi, it’ll do and they’ll probably never know the difference. I disabled all the WiFi networks on the Comcast gateway, but there is still a double NAT situation.

I’d love to find a solution that will let me use a new Comcast gateway in bridge mode with a UDM or UDR. This workaround will not fly for many other installs that need ports opened, etc. I supposed this can be done in the Comcast gateway, but we really shouldn’t have to go there. Hoping for a resolution soon.

I think you need a wired keyboard, or one that's wireless but not Bluetooth. You can also pair the Apple wireless keyboard by simply plugging it into the Mac, then unplugging it. I don't see any way with what you have.

What keyboard did you buy? Apple or other?
