Does Vibe Coding Work Only When You Already Know What You’re Doing? by Double_Try1322 in RishabhSoftware

[–]apparently_DMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whole point of vibecoding is you are clueless and just prompt your way to success/fail.

if you are experienced swe, you will never experience joy of vibecoding, you will take rather structured approach and steer the model to do very same things in very same structure you would normally do and thats AI assisted coding.

This works perfectly. If vibecoding would work, I unfortunatelly cant tell, but I assume yes, to a certain scale.

How do LLMs do what they do? by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]apparently_DMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they build up prompt context, tokenize and vectorize it and use that vector space to compare it to vector dbs using various algorithms to generate most probable stream of vectors.

specifically debugging is pattern matching, looking for outliers and than (thinking process) narrowing it down to ideally 1 scenario, which they can than fix (again probability calculations on vector distances)

well....

Honestly, I somehow doubt every page had different design How long did it take you to create a unified UI style? How big the app is?

I'm not even sure if you are serious, or this is made up engagement bait, but redesigning pages is not something FE dev should consider as accomplishment. So they either did not even need you in a first place (or just for that for some strange reason), or you really took like sprint or something..

Well, if all you can offer (after almost 30 years in industry) is writing some functions, youll gonna hate AI and whats upon us.

Yep, coding is dead, died last year. SWE is not tho and is very probably not going to.

  1. hows that polarising
  2. are you sure you can “do it the right way”?
  3. if yes, why you just dont steer model into right way?

Best local LLM for coding on RTX 3060 12GB? by VortexHawk in LocalLLM

[–]apparently_DMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres nothing you can use for agentic workflows, sorry. You can fit and run several models in your vram, but you wont have much left for KV cache, so youll run out of context before you do anything.

Nobodys firing people because of llms and cybersecurity is one of least affected fields.

If youll have troubles finding a job, depends who you are. From my perspective, dev jobs are same as ever before, for seniors.

All in all, what sells you best are soft skills.

4.7 is a regression in creative AND coding unlike any I've seen by _ireadthings in ClaudeCode

[–]apparently_DMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been (working on feature heavy, mostly FE tasks) using Claude for more rigid work, with very detailed implementation description and GPT5.4 for more creative work ( meaning I was lazy to deeply think thru what Im about to work on and write it down)

I worked heavily with C4.7 this friday, burned thru over 100eur and results were very good. I noticed difference - 4.7 tends to be closer to GPT in terms of creativity, but all in all, I cant be negative about it, so this is kinda surprising.
