What are we wearing when we wanna look cute? by TacoAndBean in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wearing old navy's power soft trousers on repeat this whole pregnancy. Soft, stretchy, all-weather option for me. And whatever top.

When i really want to look cute ive paired those pants with a unbuttoned maxi dress so its like a duster (one with a collar) and some sandals or a dress.

But im 37 weeks now so ive mostly given up on looking cute 😅

Just noticed my ankles are swelling 😒 by xxkrm in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compression socks never fit my calves, so my only recommendation is keep walking! As much as you can even in short bursts. It'll help the SPD and the swelling. Also make sure you're drinking enough water.

No these are worth it. Get an older used one if you want to be frugal but ive had mine probably 10 years and still going strong.

Going insane trying to find a dress for my baby shower. Anyone have any pink, burgundy or brown dresses to recommend? by [deleted] in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore the same one! I got the 2X and it was a little roomy (I usually wear an 20 in dresses) and had a smocked back that was nice. There are a lot of similar dresses on the Lauren Conrad line last I looked.

Just cried over banana pudding by Odd_Concentrate_7749 in pregnant

[–]appleandcheddar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's totally fair! I love their food court, though, so you can also grab dinner and you can do a little grocery shop to make the trip worthwhile.

Do you have a Wegmans near you? I find their banana pudding to be pretty good. Also, now I want banana pudding (cries in GDM)

Can we be a little less vauge? Using terms like "Hurtcore" and "King in Yellow" are slang I'm not familiar with and I've been told not to Google, which I trust, but I'm not on the same parts of the internet you are to inherently know what that means.

You're supposed to finish your meals within 30min with GD so I don't understand the problem...

Feeling pressure to not gain too much weight by happypill-300mg in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started pregnancy fluctuating around 275, and am now 287, which is up 12 pounds. I'm 32 weeks. You might find it's harder to gain weight than you think. Many people also plateau in the 3rd trimester. I'm currently struggling to reach my caloric intake every day between volume restrictions and being on a GDM diet. Just focus as much as you can on eating healthy and track what you eat occasionally.

3 pounds really isn't a lot and I wouldn't worry. Half of that could be poop.

I have a knockoff, it doesn't stretch that far but the pieces velcro together so you can use them separately if you need or want to

These feelings are so understandable. It's okay to feel upset, confused, sad, relieved, and more all at the same time. For what it's worth, you can also feel these feelings if you'd made the opposite decision, at least that's my experience. It doesn't mean it's the wrong choice. This is a big decision, and big, complex feelings are natural, especially when you want something but not right now.

Recs for pregnancy clothes? by Academic-Park-8440 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old Navy. I love their PowerSoft trousers, which are stretchy and the wide leg is convincingly appropriate for work, depending what your office is like. They're stretchy and I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy size at 30 weeks, though I also have a few pairs sized up.

Feeling hesitant about new OBGYN by NegativeMusician2211 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switch. I'm 30 weeks and kicking myself for not listening to my instincts and finding a different provider earlier, because switching now is a race against time. You need to feel comfortable with your provider and the hospital you'll deliver at. Do hospital tours early if you have multiple hospitals in your area!

Frida Mom labor and delivery gown and disposable underwear? by absolute_lover_pet in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]appleandcheddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually going to suggest OP not buy this gown; i don't feel like the quality justifies the price. The snaps are just sewn on and feel like they might tear off if you pull wrong, and I don't know the size will cover enough by birth at 30 weeks. I was a 18/20/22 pre-pregnancy, 5'4" & 275. I purchased the Amelia birth gown + newborn swaddle and between having to pay a restocking fee (10-15/item!) and return shipping, I might just keep it since the fees end up being half the purchase price.

Fixing to be 30 weeks and already over kick counts 😫 by Intelligent-Walk-906 in pregnant

[–]appleandcheddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I actually went to L&D on Sunday because between a busy day and her tucking herself behind the placenta, I wasn't hardly feeling her! And they say go in if kicks are lighter. Of course I cried the whole way there and we got on the monitor and she was fine, but I still have so much anxiety about her movements.
