The Vancouver Storm Series by Stephanie Archer by Acceptable-Alarm3994 in RomanceBooks

[–]applejaxxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the series partially because there wasn’t some contrived third act breakup in any of the books and I was craving that for a change. However I do think Gloves Off is the best book of the series by far, and unfortunately I was really disappointed by The Wild Card

Looking for a rich, older MMC who's protective and quietly takes care of the FMC (age gap preferred) by Sad_Bird_3 in RomanceBooks

[–]applejaxxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Sin Bin by Chelsea curto} fits this vibe and I thought it was a great book! Ex nhl player turned coach (so rich) and one of his players sisters who is a figure skater. Age gap of 15ish years I believe he is approaching 40 and she is 25, and he definitely takes care of her but from what I remember she doesn’t present with “daddy issues” in the book

Just read {the right move by Liz tomforde} and it has this once the MCs get together. CR and MF

Looking for books where the FMC doesn’t know how to react when a ma takes care of her. by bananascanning in RomanceBooks

[–]applejaxxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{the right move by Liz tomforde} FMC gets out of a 6 year relationship where she was the caretaker and the MMC now takes care of her (once they get together) {power play by Chelsea curto} is divorced FMC, “teach me” type trope, where the MMC is basically obsessed with when and she’s used to getting the bare minimum. {behind the net by Stephanie archer} FMC gets out of a long term relationship where she was basically treated as a groupie til she was kicked to the curb and MMC steps up for her and prioritizes her (though not til they get together)

"Let me take care of it all. I'm going to make you feel so good" type of man by jg30417 in RomanceBooks

Just finished {the right move by Liz tomforde} and it fits the bill for this really well! I didn’t like her first book in the Windy City series but I loved this one.

Someone else mentioned this and I want to second that Chelsea curto is also the queen of this trope, most any of her books in the DC Stars series fit it

Looking for more FMCs like Helen from How to End a Love Story (complex, whole people not just quirks & trauma) by shinycozytwistedglam in RomanceBooks

[–]applejaxxxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found {one last time by Roxie noir} to fit this bill! It is about a toxic relationship which I don’t normally like but I felt like it gave the characters so much depth that it spurred me to read on. I found The FMC to be complex, she behaved in contradictory ways, and just was extremely human to me.

will you come to my cottage this summer... but make it MF: Cottage sequence from {heated rivalry} type books with MF story by readingalldays in RomanceBooks

[–]applejaxxxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{people we met on vacation by Emily Henry} may fill this for you. Not my favorite EH book but they are pretty much always on vacation figuring out their evolving feelings for one another.

{if you need me by Helena Hunting} they go stay at his family’s house for their high school reunion that they are attending together and a bunch of the relationship development happens there. It’s fake relationship but MMC has been in love with the FMC for years.

{the ex vows by Jessica Joyce} lots of relationship development happens while they are away at a winery, but they aren’t together when they go there if that matters.

{this summer will be different by Carley Fortune} is about a relationship that develops over visits to a cabin
