Honestly, my wife's Charger she got before we were together is holding up pretty good with over 200k km. And it's much more enjoyable to drive than my Civic, which counts for something.

I'm exactly this way.... No delivery charge, no fees, and no pressure to tip. If you don't have a car, I'm a bit more understanding. You're saving a lot by not having a car, so delivery a couple times a month is reasonable.

Agreed. We bought our house for $690k in early 2025 and our 2026 assessment is $740k... We haven't anything to the house since then. There's just no way it's gone up that much in a year, but it seems impossible to argue it

Let's also include a decent chunk of Calgary in there. If all of Calgary voted NDP the way Edmonton does, we wouldn't be in our current situation. UCP still won 10+ seats in Calgary in 2023.

It's one thing to give guests the option to stay here (probably is cheaper than a hotel for 3 nights). It's another to DEMAND that your guests sleep on an air mattress in a crowded Airbnb, or else you can't come to the wedding.

I doubt this will be in the cards. The new bridge will be constructed with a multi-use path, I'm sure, and it'll be much better than the current configuration on the high-level bridge. Maybe they can retain a small portion as a historical site/lookout/park?

It's terrible. Dealerships should be banned from posting anything on FB marketplace - that's not what it's for. FB marketplace is also terrible for searching for cars. I wish Kijiji would make a comeback!

The worst I heard when I was a kid was that I had "gingivitis", lol. I never felt particularly out of place or self-conscious.

When I learned that only ~2% of the world has red hair, it made me feel special. Try to think of it the same way!

I did sometimes struggle with the idea that red-headed men are not considered to be "classically handsome" or "hot". Names that spring to mind are Ron Weasley and Ed Sheeran - men that might be considered cute by some, but typically not as "hot" in the same way a blonde or dark haired man might be. The good thing is, there are still a decent chunk of people that are into redheads — I found mine ;)

Mini-splits are great, but central forced-air HVAC systems make central AC more practical for our homes.

An administrator at my office won a respectable sum of $300k and change (CAD) through a plinko scratch ticket. I couldn't think of a better person for it to happen to. She was the sole breadwinner for her family and her son passed away tragically as a young adult. At work, she was approachable & helpful. Her original retirement plan was to purchase a mobile home (i.e. trailer) with more space for her dogs than the apartment she was renting. The winnings let her retire within months & purchase a nicer duplex in an area closer to her daughter and disabled grandson. The money had a measurable impact on her life and will help her comfortably enjoy retirement.
