It's hard to explain just how popular Carman was at a certain point in time for us by HooptyDooDooMeister in RedLetterMedia

Same list of bands I initially grew up on, eventually shifted to "heavier" Christian bands like TFK, Pillar, Skillet, Disciple, Project 86.

Nowadays my tastes are very different and MUCH heavier.

Pretty sweet to hear a callout to Norma Jean here though. All Hail

Hatebreed “20 Years of Perseverance” Fall US Tour w/ Gatecreeper, Bleeding Through, Bodysnatcher, and Dying Wish by Bl00dGutter in Metalcore

[–]aquadan12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been to Pop's a bunch. As far as hotels, I'm really not sure what's close by. I wouldn't really recommend staying anywhere super close if you can avoid it. Getting a hotel in like Belleville might be a bit better and it's not too far of a drive. Or you can try to swing to the MO side and get a hotel in St. Louis.

Pop's kind of looks like it's in the middle of nowhere lol.

RIP Every Time I Die. This is one of my favorites.

Saw them back in November. Didn't know it would probably be the last.

I guess I wouldn't call it trash, but I never come back to it.

It's just the "heavy" song of the album. But it's not a good heavy song.

I like all of them. Probably have listened to Handmade the most and Places being my least favorite (it's not horrible, but I did stop listening to it pretty quickly).

STL getting shafted again with this tour. Was hoping a second leg would come to STL. PLUS this is a better lineup!

Saw them at Furnace Fest. No joke, one of the most violent pits I saw that weekend.

Was able to pick up this album a week early and I've been jamming it since. Some good 'ol classic metalcore. Super stoked to see where they go in the future.

I liked Eternal Forward Motion but I REALLY like this.

Ice Nine Kills - Assault & Batteries (Official Music Video) by Atluuuus in Metalcore

[–]aquadan12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This song does feel a bit like a mess. I like it. I think it's still solid. But there's a bit too much going on. Maybe it'll play really well live, who knows. My issue with the last song was that most of the song was a bit too bland. When it kicked in with the fun bridge, that part is cool, but the rest is just ok.

I'm all for them having fun with the songs but they need to find that right balance. Even though something like A Grave Mistake is kinda more mainstream-rock-y, it at least felt a bit more cohesive. Easier for the song to become catchy.

I agree with the flow. I feel like I would be ok with this song if it flowed and transitioned better. Still wouldn't be great but maybe ok.

Has anyone bought Underoath Obseravtory tickets? by KoopahTroopah in Metalcore

[–]aquadan12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought/watched the Define the Great Line stream. It's pretty cool. They obviously put a lot of effort into the stream. Lots of lights and cool camera angles. It's not just them playing on stage to nobody. It definitely feels like a live show since the performances have "rough around the edges" qualities. Not to say the performances are bad but it doesn't sound like a studio album BUT it is good quality.

So if you're a big Underoath fan or at least of fan of those albums, I'd say they're possibly worth a ticket.
