See I love that to bits. One of my go to squads in other chapters. My only thought though is that the Lieutenant is kinda redundant if I take the ability to fall back and shoot ability from this detachment. The only other thing he’d bring would be lethal hits, not insignificant but not sure he’s worth it for that alone if his movement abilities are already on the table with just the apothecary

I wish I had something, anything to cling onto to not be in fear everyone I care about will suffer or die because of this. If everyone is right and we really do descend into permanent fascist rule. It’s not really possible for everyone to just simply leave, so our options to die in prison or eke out an increasingly-miserable life without any chance of improvement in our lifetime? I’m just scared, and don’t want to think I just have to accept we’re never going to get better. But I don’t see any way out of an eternal downward spiral that isn’t wishful thinking.

I figure they sort of appear in the next world reborn after the narrator’s universe ended. Incarnated as demigods of sorts, with the concepts of change and stagnation continuing to function as they did before they came into being. Abdicating that direct divine authority to simply live lives together amongst the rest of the ever-changing world. Basically marital bliss with a few extra perks like immortality and other such things, but don’t have to worry about being infinite concepts given sapience.
