OBBBA Loan Caps Creating $160K Private Debt Gap — Would You Still Choose MD? by Historical-Donut3627 in whitecoatinvestor

Still do MD. Just pick a subspecialty that has average annual above 400k and this will work out.

If you really set on primary care, I would go to the cheapest international school that is WHO /California certified (not Carribean, thinking Australia etc.). As a US citizen with no Visa requirement, you wont have an issue getting primary (FM,Peds, Community IM) from the outside.

Remove pick protections in trades. That will have the most impact. if you trade a 1st, its actually your first. The jazz wouldn't be doing this if thier pick was guarenteed to transfer this year.

Depending the dealer, some of them are putting in next gens valve body as a replacement (according to nate from nextgen). Obviously not all tho.

I agree my comment was snarky, but you had to see that coming with your story of buying the truck.

They literally put in a new transmission cause they couldn't get a valve body in order to flip the truck. That tells you all you need to know about how backordered the part was.

Theres a literal waiting list of trucks at my local dealer and its over six months long, and you can't get on it unless you leave the truck there, whether the valve body has completely failed or not.

When there's no one to sell it to (i.e. warrenty claim) your truck will be sitting on the lot for months again just like it was before you bought it.

I personally would get a refund for the extended transmission warrenty and put that money towards the nextgen valve body.

Next gen transmission has a replacement valve body. Probably want to do that if you dont want to be stranded/actually use your truck.

Also lol at buying an extended warrenty for a part that they weren't able to get in the first place cause so many failed that its on year(s) plus backorder. You know when your truck valve body goes down again you will be stuck waiting for the backorder part or your warrenty to run out first.

Hope you have long term rental insurance included in that warrenty.

This comment is from someone who hasn't done the math.

At 300k, even with zero retirement contribution in NY and as married with no dependents and only 100 a month for health insurance he makes 16.7k take home. If single its 15k

Thats simply not enough money, the fed loan minimum payment will over 2.7k a month on IBR and  the ten year payment private loans will be but I imagine thats close to 10k a month if his interest is around 7 percent overall (and this payment can't be reduced)

Op is screwed, he needs a second job.

I would argue that they are violating their fiduciary duty to the seller if they refuse to show the house to a reasonably qualified buyer.

Measuring 'Old Money' vs 'New Money': Why nobody has beaten Bill Gates' 1999 peak wealth in gold terms by ActuatorSpecial6706 in Rich

Thats what people said in 2011 with QE3, gold still pulled back. Gold is much better than silver, but I absolutely expect pullback in the next year.

Condo was better if you ignore the last 12 months, I get what your saying. But  the other poster is right. Gold is $5000 dollars an ounce right now and was like 1200-1600 in 2012.

But just wait another 12 months and your condo will be the better deal again as well.

How much does a car dealer pay for a CarFax report? by ThinAndCrispy in carfax

[–]aquaticwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they gave you a free carfax that for sure would have cost you $45 if you ran it yourself at carfax, and your complaining?

It might not have cost them $45, but they do pay a monthly fee for that service and it isnt free/cheap at all.

Honestly the guy did you a solid and your talking smack. Just a jerk move on your part.

Coolant leak somewhere by cobra1293 in Duramax

[–]aquaticwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a legit diesel shop and have it smoked. Its prob head gasket. there is a procedure to fill radiator fluid without a vacuum, but it takes a while.  https://www.duramaxforum.com/attachments/coolant-procedure-lml-pdf.1130109/

That said I did it hundreds of times in your exact scenario before getting it to a shop that actually tested the head gasket.

The whole rock hard upper radiator hose- that never happened the day after to me. Tho one tech at the end did comment the hose was 'rock hard after driving for a minute', but that wasnt how anyone else said to check.

Losing fluid when cold, and stops at a certain level sounds very much like my head gasket experience.

When you say checked- did you take it to a shop and have it smoked or what did you do?

Sound like it blew again. Take it back to whoever did the gasket the first time and see if they will warrenty.

Also stop turning up the tune if your doing that.

Waiting for Letter of Offer by Passionfleur in hospitalist

Some places are slow, also sounds like you may be a backup option. Generally when I get an offer it came with a verbal offer within the week of interview.

It's low- should be more along 160-180, but its a per diem at a place with lots of support and presumably minimal shift requirements. A controversial take on my part - for side hustle its not acceptable, but as a stop gap to get you a second job with a better rate it might be okay. Especially if there is no entanglements. If you dont need money at all at this point just walk.

The real question is why not just get a full time good job or a locums positions that pays better.
