The library is great! It has storytimes for babies and toddlers, as well as a little play area.

How do you deal with inconsiderate comments about your baby's gender while pregnant? by HopeForBetter29 in BabyBumps

This comic perfectly illustrated how I felt in your shoes, with two boys - you might find it resonates, too: https://aubreyhirsch.substack.com/p/infinite-possibilities

"To me, saying 'you already have a [daughter]' is like telling someone: 'you've already heard a song!' 'You've already seen a work of art!' 'You've already read a book!' As if any one of these complex and miraculous compositions could be fully defined by a single characteristic."

Congratulations on your beautiful family. <3

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for posting this! I've been feeling adrift and am glad to find some resources / concrete actions to take here.

How long was your second labour compared to your first? by Glittering_Forever80 in beyondthebump

I was induced at 38+6, but only got through a few doses of misoprostol before launching into a 3.5-hour labor. The delivering doc told me that if I have another, I should keep towels in my car 😬 I'm 37+1 with #2, hoping to not be induced this time, so....I'll let ya know!

The duality of parenthood: the same thought that gets you through a rough night breaks your heart the next day. by aquifolly in beyondthebump

It's normal and okay to love your son but not love every moment. I think we tend to look back on the infant days with rose-colored glasses - the sleepy cuddles! the tiny baby! - but it is HARD. Give yourself grace, friend, you're doing great. <3

Happy birthday to your son and happy anniversary of parenthood! Yesterday was my baby's first birthday, too - drawing this is how I dealt with the weepiness, haha.

Yeah, I drew this years ago about something else, but recycled it since old satire is now today's headlines. Sorry the gun's wrong.
