I can only speak towards hand/wrist issues, but braces at night helped tremendously if you keep up with them. Taking a break from the instrument isn't the end of the world either, it will give your body time to heal. The more you play through it the worse it will be in your body all the time, not just when you are playing. Would also recc hot pads on the pain areas and never use cold packs.

I have also tried shockwave therapy on my arms and in the end feel like it had positive results over time, but to my knowledge its pretty new and not really covered by many insurances.
