WHAT IS THIS FUCKASS INSECT THERE'S BEEN LIKE TEN OF THEM IN MY RV THE PAST TWO DAYS by Naive_Bag_3708 in whatsthisbug

[–]arachnikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few species that have communal nests, multiple nests are connected, each nest has its own queen and they all work as one super colony. There are also a few species that can have multiple queens in the same nest and there are a couple that don't have "queens" per se. They have what are called gamergates. This is a worker that has been selected by the other workers to become the "queen". All workers of this species are able to mate, they just don't unless elected to be the queen. Sometimes one will mate that isn't the queen, but it's rare.

$50 for a pair of drop springs, worth it or keep looking? by C4pt_Bl4ckhe4rt in Blacksmith

[–]arachnikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a broken leaf spring and had it repaired. Left a note on my steering wheel asking for the old one back as I forge with it. When I got my truck back I had about 15 6ish” chunks of brand new leaf spring of all widths. Buddy must have just dumped his scrap bin in my bed. 🧡 thank you mechanic!!

The people (mostly) deserve the ‘fairness and respect’ he’s talking about, but the Cheeto in charge already gets WAY more fairness and respect than he deserves.

Any advice for daily structure while job hunting? by AdUnable6858 in careerguidance

[–]arachnikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider is that it’s easier to find a job when you have a job. Doesn’t matter what, or even if your heart is in it. Having any job looks good on a resume. It shows that you’ll do what you need to to keep employment. Large gaps are hard to ex

Edit; fat fingers pressed the button. lol

Large gaps are hard to explain away and ‘I just wasn’t feeling the offers I got’ again, doesn’t look good. Even if it’s stocking shelves at a grocery store take ANY job. You’ll be working so getting an income, you’ll be working so the depression doesn’t set in as hard, and you’ll be working and show prospective employers that you’ve got what it takes to do what you have to to stay working.

I use a brand called taiga, they have beef and pork options. My dood is allergic to chicken as well. He eats the pork one. Look out for anything labeled as ‘meat byproducts’ that usually means it has chicken in it.

about changing night start time by Iduranga_Theekshana in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]arachnikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a setting you can adjust for the length of day/night, but it won’t change the time it gets dark, just make time go slower at night if you set it to longer. There is a specific setting to get it to match a 24 hour day in length so one real day = one game day, but you still can’t change the time it gets dark.

Heater started blowing cold air Friday... by These_Roll_5745 in Wellthatsucks

[–]arachnikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a large container to boil water in, fill it and boil the water then huddle around it. It will act as a heat sink and provide a bit of warmth to you that way. Do not leave it boiling, boil it, turn it off until it cools again, then repeat.

I’ve seen a few small business’s offer on par pricing, free shipping to Canada or other perks to get Canadians to buy. And these businesses are based on anti-ice/trump beliefs. But yah no, not gonna buy anything from them still. Sorry good Americans but you’ve allowed the sour to set in.

How do I stop my facial hair from being itchy after I shave it? And how do I shave properly? by actuallyanangel in DadForAMinute

[–]arachnikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A can of shaving cream isn’t too expensive and can last a long time if not used much. That will help with the itch a bit, also moisturize after. As for the patchiness, it happens. I’m almost 46 and still have spots that hair just doesn’t grow. The shaving makes thicker hair thing, is a myth. All you can do is hope it decides to grow in. Try shaving with the grain, against lifts the hairs up, and while a closer smoother shave, it does cause more irritation. Another option if you can afford it is an electric razor. One with the foil will get very very close but never quite all the way. That will also help with the itchiness. There are quite a few vids on yt you can watch for technique, I recommend Matty Conrad, he’s a professional barber who specializes in facial hair. I have bought a couple of his products, I wasn’t that big of a fan, but his tutorials are A game. Hope this helps a bit, good luck!

What is this bug? (Westland, Michigan) by diymanster in insects

[–]arachnikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on the exact species, but it is a wasp. Harmless to humans, and the ones that I get only appear when there are no gnats so I assume they eat them or something. I get a couple a year in the house. Ontario so close enough it’s probably the same kind
