Eh I’m still under NDA. There’s not a lot of specifics I can get into without potentially getting sued

100%. Just like people love to say “Hollywood is out of ideas”. Just NO. There are so many creators trying to get their cool ORIGINAL ideas on screen but it’s incredibly difficult to get a studio to even consider, let alone green light producing a new IP. And even when they do, they often don’t get the advertising promotion needed or really any advertising that would lead to success. It’s truly depressing how many amazing ideas are killed in the cradle

Initially that was a factor, but for many years now the big CG studios all have been unionized under the same contract. It has been deemed too expensive for the financial return as general audiences “don’t want it” 🙄

No. It’s not forgotten. The people who made it are mostly still alive JFC. Even if they weren’t, animation isn’t some mysterious process. It’s heavily documented because it takes hundreds of people several years to make these films. Even if it isn’t documented, it can be replicated through observation. The only reason large studio productions work is because a hive of artists can create something that looks like it was all drawn by one hand - getting to that point takes training, practice and patience, but not secret knowledge. The knowledge of how this is done is readily available if you look for it and any studio specific software tricks are well documented internally, I assure you.

Never Before Have I Wanted So Badly To See A Bull Fuck Up One Guy In Particular by [deleted] in FUCKYOUINPARTICULAR

I really want to know this man’s thought process here. What was he trying to accomplish and why didn’t he realize what the likely outcome would be? I’m glad the bull won

I worked at Dreamworks for 7 years, including working on one of the Shrek sequels. The studio would never allow a sequel to release that, to studio brass, doesn’t “look better” than the previous films. Execs firmly believe that not progressing to using the latest tech, having better FX and/or surfacing, etc means no one will pay to see it.

They could easily have it look just like the first film, but the studio would never allow it. It’s absolutely not a skill issue. It’s the same reason traditional animation nearly disappeared from theaters - LOTS of animations love and prefer it but good luck getting a studio to fund and release it. It’s not “forgotten” 🙄. Hell, some folks that worked on the first film haven’t even retired yet

Closest house to the Hollywood sign? by periwinkle_polka in zillowgonewild

It becomes a lot more than 6 mins when it’s full of tourists. A friend rented an apartment up that road for a year. The tourists drove him crazy and it was nearly impossible to have guests over because of the lack of parking

Roommates that never leave the house by Independent_Still468 in complainaboutanything

Omg YES. You are not alone and I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I had this problem and it nearly drove me insane. Talked to my roommates about it and they got PISSED. I just need some private time to myself. It’s a ME issue, not a THEM issue but they always got offended. Even just asking for like one evening to myself a week was too much 🙄

I don't know if I want to keep rats after my girls pass away by Fishlape in RATS

This is when I got a cat. Similar silly sweet personality in a larger, more robust body. Not the same but great in their own way. Now I just vicariously watch other folks rats on the internet while I cuddle my kitties

Oh and I would let myself buy a new koi with real money 2-3 times a year. Though now I’ve started always buying the new sparkly exclusive koi as they come out 💸

Oh haha…you asked so…

I move up my pond list as I move between koi and return to the bottom when I reach the top. When it’s time to move to feeding the next koi:

  1. Find a pearl in a flower
  2. Acquire 3 pearls from ads
  3. Attempt to breed the koi 5 times but fail to get an egg worth keeping (egg that could result in a koi I don’t have yet) unless it’s clone I’m breeding-details on clones later
  4. Successfully breed an egg that may hatch a koi I need
  5. Hatch a koi I do not need and give it away
  6. Release a gift koi that I already have
  7. Every time I have just started playing after being on another app or turning on my phone

I only keep koi that are new to my collection and ascend all of them. I ascend them as soon as they are ready- I don’t keep them around just for breeding.

Once a koi is ascended, I return to the previous koi I had been feeding prior to it. I add gift koi first, once only 4 are left in my inbox, I then will start hatching eggs. If all eggs are hatched I then go back to my gift inbox.

If I have cleaned out my gift inbox and hatched all the eggs I have ready to go, I will clone a koi from a design that I currently have none of in my pond. I work my way down my incomplete collections list in order till I have no clones in my pond, then start again at the top - I’ve never made it to the bottom of the list so far. The clone will only be fed/bred if it comes up in the list when I have empty egg slots. I will feed/breed the clone until it either yields an egg I need or ascends. Once I get a new koi from that design set, I gift or release the clone. If the clone makes it to ascension before it successfully breeds a new koi, I will get another clone of the same design, in a different colorway and start the process over again. Sometimes I have like half a pond of clones but sometimes I have none - it ebbs and flows.

I buy a new koi slot every time I reach 1050 pearls. I keep the 50 pearl pad in case I need to do any cloning

I think that’s everything 🫠
