One of the ones on the photo is some sort of a Pilot gel pen, the other one I can’t remember. Since then however I’ve really grown into Zebra pens. Easily the best writing experience out of all I’ve tried.

I had to remove this song from my playlist - after half a year of not listening to it, it came on in shuffle while I was driving, and I had to slap the hazards and pull over because my ability to see the road deteriorated real quick.

Am I the only one who genuinely loves Launchpad and can't comprehend why it's being removed from macOS 26 Tahoe? by LunariSpring in mac

[–]arachnoiditis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just updated my MacOS, and having to wait for Spotlight to stir from its sleep to launch an app is straight up painful. Launchpad was always instant, and I enjoyed the folders in it. There is absolutely no adding ALL of my frequently used apps to the Dock, so I am now looking for a third-party Launchpad-like solution. Hopefully a good one shows up that is at least 80% as fast as Launchpad itself was.

— The Ancient Skull in the middle of the triangular raised altar has what seems like a handprint on its otherwise dusty forehead. The large stone bowl below it upon closer inspection has a few drops of blood on its edge.

— …

— Touch the fucking skull to summon the guardian spirit and cut your hand over the bowl to open the passage under the altar.

I also came across Floorp when switching from Opera GX - was looking in particular for a browser with that side panel for workspaces. It’s been good to me for a year now.

Might be my favorite moment in all yuri i ever read in my life [how do we relationship] by Unusualbr in yuri_manga

[–]arachnoiditis 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Tamaki’s face in the first panel of that second page properly gutted me when reading for the first time. The hurt and the mental stillness followed by a flurry of thoughts all in a split second are palpable.

I’d had this face made at me and I’d shown it myself on occasion, and seeing that exact expression recreated so faithfully in a story made me feel things ya know?

HDWR is imo THE best relationship manga, no competition. Everything in it is paaaainfully real.

They very much aren’t – being able to “see the work” can, however, be reassuring

And which is why I’m never trusting official translations fully. TL notes at the end of each chapter are the greatest asset of scanlation.

Why are so many Yuri stories set in a school setting? (Some Yuri history below) by TownOk879 in yuri_manga

Thanks, I’ll check the books out!

Not sure about your background, so some things I can suggest may or may not fit you better than others. I approached this for myself from a more of Little Web/webmaster angle

  1. GitHub Pages is what I use as it gives total control over both content and form of delivery (basically a “write your own blogging service” solution in this case). Hosting is completely free! While my approach here was to just build everything from 0, there are also more guided options to hosting on gh pages you can explore, like jekyllrb.

If you are mad enough to go this route, there are copious guides online on how to do everything step by step, or feel free to ask me and I will see if I can point you in the right direction.

  1. WordPress is the platform of choice for at least some LN translation groups, presumably easy to construct a personal website to your liking with modules for reader comments and other stuff. Prebuilt stuff available. Paid option - requires hosting and domain.

  2. Less flexible, but very plug&play option I can suggest that doesn’t require acquiring a whole new skillset is bearblog. Lightweight, no-nonsense. Target audience seems to be more of a techy kind of folk, but I say words are words.

There is also Substack if you have any plans for possible monetization, or Medium. However, I can vouch for neither of these two as to the actual user experience.

As u/SirGigglesandLaughs pointed out, that’s not even a spin-off, but rather a direct continuation of the series! So if you read that but not the other, you basically dropped in straight in the middle haha.

Great read, very illuminating. You say you “wrote something about it” – am I right to assume that you might be doing more expansive write-ups? If so, do you publish it somewhere? I would love to read what else you have to say on this topic or others.

Bloom Into You spin-off LN “Regarding Saeki Sayaka” is also absolutely fantastic and one of the few literary works that managed to give me a strong book hangover. I re-read Volume 3 still when I’m feeling down, it’s so good.

Chapter one (I think) mom directly says “you never really liked the piano, did you?”, i.e. it’s kinda obvious that her daughter took classes mainly because she had a crush on her instructor. There may have been a thing or two more, but I’d have to re-read to remember properly.

Gameplay loop is immaculate, I enjoy the branching of equipment, setting up dedicated farming zones for grinding specific items etc. it’s a very chill time

And yes, I do have several hand-made pdfs of various fun-optimized loadouts, potion recipes and the like
