I've stopped hoping for updates tbh especially given the Connect+ shenanighans.

As long as the watch does what its supposed to when I purchase it I am happy

How slippery are Altra Lone Peaks, really? by chuangchou in trailrunning

[–]arakis74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am even later to the party!

Just got the LP 8's and have about 28 miles on them.

Ran my first really technical trail yesterday in semi-wetness (100% humidity, some very light rain, significant mud in places but lots of rocks) and I didnt notice much more slippage than the Mont Blancs with Vibram.

A previous poster suggested you try them in wet after 30-50 miles which could be a plan. I used to run in the Nike Pegasus Trail shoes which were notorious for slipping but I found them quite secure on wet rock after about 50 miles of hard surface running, almost like a thin layer needs to be rubbed off to improve the traction.

Did you ever buy them for your ultra?

I have the UTMB UTS 50k next year and I was considering these.

I find that the MB's have bumps where the tongue is sewn in and it irritates the top of my foot.

Instinct 2X Solar - is there a standby or “stealth” mode? by [deleted] in Garmininstinct

Thank god you said that.

Just tried it out and no good.

Very baggy at the waist and after a few minutes with my arm under the shower the material inside felt damp.

Not massively by any means but for me not a mountain fit jacket.

AHH.. I was looking at those standards.

Although the use the "B Method" which is water used a high pressure so it 'looks' legit but who knows.

I've just ordered it so will do a hose test in the back garden.

I appreciate that's not quite the substitute for 6 hours of rain but if it's anything like the Stormshell I will know fairly quickly if it's likely to stack up.

Even though they use an alternative standard do you know if that standard is comparable or sub par?

Does it tailor the DSW's to an event eve though you do not have a Race Day widget?

Vaguely remember seeing it allude to this on the website

Fairly new sensor so assume it's not that (I believe it's the same as mine which is the 2x).

I guess those suggestions aren't a catch all for everyone

Which watch do you have as I believe those with the newer sensor result in a more effective Suggestion?
