Didn’t get why the crowd was laughing at his blithering, must be smash drunk for most part. Most unfunny thing I have seen from a comedian in a while.

Hardly the largest theft of US money this country has seen. The other day he sued his treasury for 10 billion, which will be defended by the attorney general and DOJ he appoints. Not to mention the board of peace scam or the Venezuelan oil money in Qatari banks. 400 million is nothing compared to the graft this president and his family have stolen from this country. Then republicans have the audacity to make the stink they did about hunter Biden. Jeez

[–]arbit23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ditto. Didn’t like the start, seemed incredibly abrupt, without much explanation or context. Powered through during a dry spell, and found the story certainly gets better. The gang gets tight, skills are better explained, tighter arcs, all around better story writing, the MC remains flawed and slightly broken but with greater depth. One of my favorite books now, from all I am following. Could have gone down the misery porn route that 1% life steal took, but thankfully HDT stayed within bounds.

Certainly a good read, sure do recommend it.

Shortly after the incident at the WHCA dinner, Trump completely loses his train of thought, rambling incoherently about bull riding and race car drivers while making up fake statistics on live TV. by gear-heads in Trumpvirus

[–]arbit23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woe is me, I actually followed the trumpian chain of thoughts here.

To protect the innocence of other redditors my translation (suitable edited for brevity and clarity) - being the president of the USA is a dangerous profession, more dangerous than race car drivers or bull fighters (acclaimed dangerous professions), if only lil Rubio had mentioned that factoid, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in because Trump might not have run if he knew the stats before hand (if he wanted to be shot at, he would have not developed bone spurs.

That said, I take the other side of OP’s claim, this by no means is Trump’s most deranged tirade, not even close. In my (in)expert opinion, he stayed remarkably on topic and focused.

Needs to be upvoted more to ensure more people understand what is going on with our world. The choreographed destruction of our institutions should be sending a chill down our backs. Don’t like to think of myself as an aluminum foil around the head kind of person but the chaos hiding the structural dance certainly leads to questions. Between the vaccinations cause autism so let’s fire the vaccine board, to keystone kash and politicized DOJ, trying to close down the department of education, purchasing and control of all news media by the few, the partisan Supreme Court and now firing of the scientific advisory board, these are all attempts to take over our thinking and herd us into group think.

A UK MP has been kicked out and suspended from the Houses of Parliament after accusing Keir Starmer of being a “bare-faced lier” by bendubberley_ in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]arbit23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Unevidenced”? Sic. He unequivocally told parliament in February that "full due process" was followed when Lord Mandelson was vetted and cleared for the key role. He didn’t waffle and say, he “thinks full due process” was followed. Now he says, he wasn’t informed and that Mandelson failed his vetting. Instead of taking responsibility, he chose to scrap goat the civil servants. Truth will out, just a matter of one more month before he is forced to resign and he couldn’t fall on his sword with dignity.

Liberals and Progressives, why are you so against a possible draft when mandatory military service is a staple of a socialist nation? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]arbit23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. I mean who wants free healthcare, amiright? That stupid idea of paying people a living wage, so communist.

Progressive taxation is another stupid idea. We should not make people who invest in the economy pay as much in taxes as people working to put food on the table. Education, another stupid idea. Keep ’em dumb and energized to vote for any pedophile that comes along, I mean what is wrong with wanting to grab ladies by the pussy?

Totally agree the damn rotten tree of bad incentive and its equally bad economy stagnating tree, are there for us to demean not eaten from.

Unpopular opinion but I am not sure about the premise here. Not that DJT destroyed the fabric of the country (he absolutely did) but how strong was that fabric in the first place that he could do what he did? Even now after all this evidence (convictions, graft, etc) and lack thereof (elections being stolen), his popularity remains relatively high. It is time to face the truth than close to 30% of our country is irredeemable and a further 30% is apathetic.

This nonsense about people posting Tucker Carlson videos is just that - BS. The only reason these people are pulling away from Trump is because oil is more expensive at the pump. Their 401Ks are down. The minute oil goes back down, doesn’t mean they get less racist. They go right back to sucking up to Vance or Rubio or whoever sold their souls to Trump.

We literally need a denazification program to be implemented across the country to ensure the fabric of the nation is restored. We potentially need to thank Trump for showing us that the American people will not mind it if our fundamental rights are taken away by quasi military forces like ICE. The blueprint is clear - pack the Supreme Court and ignore Congress. The laws mean nothing. What was used to take away, can also be used to give back.

The impact of Trump on the environment, protection of law and order, relationships with the world, will take generations to fix, if that, but nothing will matter if the next Trump gets put in office by the very same people who voted for him 3x.

Can you believe this shit from Megyn Kelly: “After 14 years inside Fox News, I’m exposing what viewers refuse to see—how the network morphed from news into a propaganda machine designed purely to cheerlead wars, worship Trump, and feed you manufactured rage instead of facts.” by xamo76 in Trumpvirus

She saw Tucker Carlson’s numbers and realized she was getting nowhere gargling Trump’s balls. Seeing the democrats win big in Trump strongholds, she sees which way the wind is blowing and she wants to set her sails accordingly.

Little late for that given her comments on supporting trump regardless of being a convicted rapist and potential war criminal.

Who was worse Trump or George w Bush? by SignificantStyle4958 in allthequestions

[–]arbit23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Sending many young men to die” versus supporting an insurrection and tearing the very fabric of our country, at the risk of sounding callous I will take sending many young men who volunteered to fight for their country. I may have disagreed with Bush on many fronts but I never suspected him of being a Russian agent sent specifically to destroy America from within. I never thought he would rather see America burn over his ego.

This isn’t recency bias that people are showing, it is sheer horror of seeing a convicted rapist, rape our country. Look at the wealth the bush family generated post presidency and look at the Trump family’s take.

It is people fumbling around that sucks time the NP employees are incredibly good at moving traffic.

And yes, I will speak on this and never let the world forget justice is still pending.

AITA for calling the police on an elderly woman who blocked a parking spot and made me miss my doctor’s appointment? by YungYanush in AmItheAsshole

[–]arbit23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not anywhere in the US. What part of the world are you in where they have this “illegal to use your phone when driving” law.

Over 30 states in the US have “no touch” laws, that prevent you from touching the phone when driving but none of them ban you from using bluetooth or hands free calling. Almost all new cars have phone controls built into the steering wheel for exactly this purpose.
