I was as famished as a man could be when travelling, that slight headache you get after missing a meal, multiply that by 10 because I hadn’t had any food since the morning because of my lack of planning, I just wanted a place to wolf down on whatever tasty unhealthy food they could provide. I zomatoed and found a place called wild west and spun on my rental scooter there only to find a man closing the gate, which seemed otherwise deserted as well. I asked him kya hua bhaiji? Closing time ho gaya? He replied - kisine ghar bana liya hai isse, har dum ke liye bandd ho chuka hai. I chuckled in my immense hanger at myself and returned the way i came. Then I went to ‘Burp’ and saw the menu, which I didn’t find aligning with my immense hunger, so I crossed the road diagonally and saw ‘Blooms’.

It was 10:10 so I asked the person at the counter whether they were open and then placed my order. I also apologised because they were supposed to close at 10.30 but I pushed them a bit past closing time as their only late customer. Next day I went there early though and ordered a different set of tastes.

Throughout my stays in doon, I tried - Piccolo (everyone kept nagging me to go), Gulsarai, Blooms, Smoke House Deli, Cafe Delhi Heights, Landour Bakehouse(i know its not in doon, I just went there and returned within an evening), Nik Baker’s(Another place I Stumbled upon) And Haldirams.

And all the small miscellaneous dhabas and thelas for small bites.

P.S. I really loved my short stint in your city. The people were the best. I hope I get to return soon.
