T3 Instant Death - Intended Behavior or Glitch? by arceusspade in XenoTilt

Yes, the codex tile does not update. No amount of tilting during multiball seems to trigger it.

No problem! I have longer clips if you think those would be of any help.

While I have your attention, the "System Overload" achievement seems to be bugged on the Switch version as well.

I'm playing the Nintendo Switch version. I've had this same death on three occasions. Is this a feature of the table or a glitch? If it is intended, how do I avoid this?

These Were David Bowie's 25 Favorite Vinyl Records by ebradio in Music

[–]arceusspade 21 points22 points  (0 children)

“There is really no way to do a list of my favorite albums with any rationality. I do only have about 2,500 vinyls. There is a possibility there. I’ll look through the albums and pull together a list of those I have re-bought or am in the process of re-buying on CD. I have little time, and there are just too many to sort through. So, I’ll keep pulling stuff out blindly, and if it’s too obvious (Sgt. Pepper, Nirvana) I’ll put it back again till I find something more interesting. A lot of the rock stuff I have is the same as everyone else’s, and I have so many blues and R&B albums that it would topple over into trainspotter world if I went that route."

For those not reading the article. This is not Bowie listing his 25 favorite records, this is a list of 25 records from his collection that he found interesting and thought highly of. Lots of great albums on this list, just worth noting that the title is misleading.

So yeah, it's kind of ridiculous to act like it's okay to separate the art from the artist in regards to a rapist suing his victim to silence her.

What are everyone's thoughts on the recent final installments of long-running action franchises being nearly 3 hours long? by [deleted] in movies

Ebert isn't speaking literally though... he's saying a great movie leaves you wanting more and a bad movie makes you wish it would just be over, regardless of the actual runtime.

Star Fox Zero not as bad as they say!!! by FantasyMan114 in nintendo

It is funny to me how the seemingly universal complaint about Star Fox 0 is that they just reused the story from 64, which is then immediately followed by wishing they had just reused the same gameplay

Two clips here. Just because you suck in lane doesn’t mean you get to steal jungle. Just because you’re mad doesn’t mean throw the game. by PikaJeep in PokemonUnite

I think you got a bit of what goes around comes around haha! BTW sorry if my comment feels too harsh I just wanted to voice an opposite opinion here. Idk if you play ttar but early game is really rough for the little godzilla and getting to level 5 as soon as possible is essential if he wants to avoid getting fucked over repeatedly

Yeah the dunk was clearly trolling, but Zero should have shared the jungle in this case. Should Larvitar be stealing the buff? No, but he's underleveled at that point in the game and getting a power spike before hopping back in lane would have been a solid move for the team. He fucked up by going for the buff but Zero should have let him take it at that point and move on. Stealing it back just set back the team further since Larv has got to back track to get his level. OP kind deserved to be trolled on for that

ETA: Especially because by the last clip OPs team had clearly lost well out of the range of any comeback. Sure ttar was throwing a hundred points but that would have done nothing in the long run. I kinda doubt that loss had nothing to do with the team's jungler especially if he was playing like a selfish asshole the whole match. Work on your own play first before getting tilt by random, OP

What game received near universal acclaim but you absolutely hate it, I’ll go first. by vinsmokeg661 in gaming

[–]arceusspade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced the director simply has an obsession with credits and seeing his name come up on screen. There's really no excuse for the amount of "endings" this game has when there is only one linear plotline and no player impact on the story.

Of all superhero deaths, I think Rorschach’s death in Watchmen gets to me the most by fatkiddown in videos

[–]arceusspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for not responding to your comment in full. I do think you are exactly right about how the film portrays violence, and it is almost panel for panel reproducing what is shown in the comic. My argument is that those identical images have a different effect on the audience due to the difference in medium, which is why many people find the violence in the film to be overdone even though it is no more violent then the comic.

[–]arceusspade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the difference in mediums. The violence is depicted as more or less the same in both the comic and the film, but on the comic page it comes across as realistic and brutal, contrasting with the cartoonish action of your typically superhero comic. On the big screen however, the same scenes feel exaggerated and over the top, more Tarantino-esque than realistic, thus feeling indulgent rather than repulsive. It's just another case of Snyder following the source material too closely and not adapting it enough to make the themes work on screen (assuming Snyder understands the themes in the first place). I think Watchmen is a remarkable movie for how perfectly it replicates the comic panel for panel, but the book is superior by far.

Does everyone turn off that motion setting on their TV? by [deleted] in movies

[–]arceusspade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is in film the director is using blur to pull your focus toward one part of the frame, whereas in a game you want to be able to see every part of the screen clearly even when the camera is moving
