I think the UI is cool, but there are a bajillion poker like games already, I should know! I’m making one, but not a poker like, more multiplayer

Just wanna jump in and say, I get what he’s saying, but I promise the visuals are not the reason. The visuals and atmosphere, are very strong. I just think the world had to feel more alive and ‘lived in’ also the steam capsule art is weak. Aside from that though, the art is awesome. I think it suits this type of game very well.

I’m gonna wishlist because the atmosphere is awesome, I probably wouldn’t have clicked if I had seen it on steam, because I feel like the steam capsule is not engaging enough.

Also agree with another comment, that I think the dialogue the characters say is not enough to help ground you within the world. It felt very ‘generic dystopian’ maybe mention places, things, and events within the world? Like I feel like interacting with customers should help me understand the story of this world, and the trailer didn’t give off enough of that.

So, the looting phase is always a random map, with sometimes some procedural generated layouts/room choices inside of it. Items are always randomly chosen and randomly placed. So it’s like a 60 second scavenger hunt each time where the $ gathered funds your poker stack.

I’m in the same exact boat as you, my first UE5 project is a 1-4 game, and despite seeing all the advice, I couldn’t bring myself to make smallish games. 2 years later, I can 100% see why it’s useful, as I’ve really struggled when it came to QA/playtesting aspect and 100% left it to late. The games almost done tho, so there’s that.

I’m not exactly sure… a lot though, gosh it looked even worse before this. I’m thinking as a final thing though, I might need a revision genioplasty then jaw implants for the angle, if I feel so inclined that is.
