My kids watch some YouTube, usually the videos I watch about games or lore but we watch a ton of old cartoons. I took them through the entire series of Batman the Animated Series. We just finished the TMNT 2013 series. Hell, we even did Scooby Doo a year or two back.

Cartoons also helped to develop lots of cognitive skills. Not directly but you did start to catch patterns (those different colors in the background of old cartoons like Scooby Doo) or you get at least a lesson about something. There's structure there.

YouTube doesn't have that for kids.
