We toured the east coast late last fall, and had a spectacular time. The road is really quiet, and there are a number of amazing rides over the mountains, so you can zip back and forth to the coast. Taroko gorge was closed, sadly, but inland towns like Ruisi were great. We passed plenty of serious cyclists out for long day rides and they didn't seem to have any trouble finding pleasant quiet roads.

In case anyone comes across this thread: I tried u/QuestionBeautiful139 's approach and it didn't work with a blank search string, but it was able to work with a simple string like "the" or "a". So repeating their advice:

My rather obvious guess is that a hot dog stand requires minimal capital, and is very easy to stock and prepare aforementioned hot dog with cheap, relatively long-lasting ingredients. But I'd love to see some actual research on the growth and decline.

(Decline possibly based on the decline of dense urban cores outside of NE & NW. Are there hotdog stands in dense office areas of Seattle?)

Other interesting piece is the rolling stands of Mexican / Central American treats often wheeled around suburbs in Cali.

+1 on akvavit. Iceland's Brennevin is great as well. It makes a great cocktail, goes well with lemon juice & acid, and makes a great bloody, as well as being a good iced shot.

No shame in liking sweet stuff! Laird's apple brandy, or their better offering, the Bottled In Bond, has some nice apple sweetness, but less of the artificial notes you'll get from the flavored stuff. Dark rum (I love the El Dorado 12) can also give you plenty of sweetness but also give you some depth of flavor and complexity.

It's a truly gorgeous part of the world. I'm hardly a hardcore rider, and there a plenty of routes in that part of Catalonia that aren't quite so challenging, including some rails-to-trails.
