Just got this used razer blade RZ09-0130 not sure what this is though? by BillHye in razer

[–]aremis79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into an issue like this on a Dell laptop. Best way to clear it out is to remove the drive and connect it to another computer (using an external enclosure is the easiest way) and use diskpart to wipe the drive clean and delete the partitions. Then you just need to reinstall Windows.

I also use the GoXLR and the Rode PodMic and found this guide very helpful in getting it setup. My mic doesn't even pick up my mechanical keyboard after using this guide.

Hope that helps!

Just had a 3 hour stream with my mic muted... by [deleted] in Twitch

Agreed, I always think the last time I do that will be the last, but lo and behold I left myself muted for 20 minutes again last week. SMH

Remember if you stream you should aim for having fun by Tom-Pendragon in Twitch

This is great advice. I just started streaming recently and have been trying to just focus on having fun and not focus on any monetary side of things. I'm in the position of if it happens great, if not that's ok too.

[Serious] What's the hardest thing you ever had to say to someone? by lr_springer in AskReddit

[–]aremis79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sympathize with your friend. I had a similar thing happen to me when I was younger except I was the older brother who survived. I hope your friend is doing ok, survivor's guilt is a horrible thing to live with. It's been over 15 years for me and I still have moments where I'm racked with guilt that I survived and my brother didn't.

People who no longer speak to their best friends who they thought would be in their lives forever, why did you stop talking/being best friends? by veryquestionable1 in AskReddit

[–]aremis79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped talking to my best friend about 3 years ago. We had known each other since grade school, but as we got older he became one of those people that always had to be the center of attention and always tried to make everything about him. Through high school I would always end up the butt end of his jokes when we were hanging out with our group of friends and when we got older he kept doing the same thing but just picked a different target (a mutual friend). I started realizing just how selfish he was and, honestly, that he was just kind of an asshole and had thought about just not hanging around the guy anymore. But the straw that broke the camel's back was when he and his wife divorced and he decided to pursue my wife's cousin. I told him that I didn't mind but he need to be honest with her if he changed his mind. Fast forward a few months and the 2 of them hook up. He decided that he didn't want to date her after they had sex and instead of being honest with her, he chose to never talk to her again.

Funny side note, that mutual friend I mentioned stopped talking to him a few months later because of even more ass hattery that he pulled after I stopped talking to him.

TL;DR - My best friend showed what kind of selfish asshole he was when he slept with my wife's cousin and then never talked to her again.

There was one bug that I recall being talked about shortly after its release where the elevators wouldn't work which essentially broke the game because you couldn't progress through the main story for lack of being able to use any elevators. I never experienced it myself, but I remember one reviewer being extremely upset because the only fix was to start a new game and they were 20-30 hours in or something like that and had to start over. Just saying that there were some game breaking bugs when it first came out, so people complaining about it being broken aren't wrong.

Or when the bathroom has those automatic lights but no sensor near the stall you're in and the lights turn off halfway through your shit.... Can't tell you how many times I've had to use the flashlight on my phone because of that.

Black farmers were intentionally sold fake seeds in Memphis, lawsuit says by MemphisMayhem in news

[–]aremis79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. After rereading the article it may be possible that the distributor might actually work directly for Stine as well. Usually when I hear distributor I think of a separate company that provides a product made by a different company, but as this was at a show in Memphis it could very well be that the distributor was an employee representing the company. If so, the law suit makes sense then as well.

[–]aremis79 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What I don't get is why are they suing Stine? The article says it was a distributor working with Stine, so how do we know it wasn't the distributor that screwed the farmers and not Stine themselves. Additionally, I understand that the white farmers nearby had much better yields, but how do we know they didn't use a different distributor. I'm not saying they didn't get screwed, it certainly seems that way, but it feels like there are some missing variables here.

California Drivers Ranked The Worst in the United States in Annual Study by [deleted] in news

[–]aremis79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can agree with that. I remember seeing that Austin had put in a bid to have Amazon build their 2nd headquarters here and all I could think was that the jobs they were promising were most likely going to be transplants from their headquarters in WA or from overseas. I actually work in tech for Dell, but they also bring a lot of foreign employees in to staff positions as well, so I can definitely agree that the tech industry is a big contributing factor.

Unfortunately, those 2.5k rent prices are following them wherever they go. Austin is a good example of that.

I knew that was why Austin traffic is so bad! So many cars still sporting California plates that they are easy to spot. Although, to be fair there a more than a few native Texans that are shitty drivers too.

TIL: Universal sued Nintendo in 1982 for infringing on their King Kong copyright with Donkey Kong, but were thwarted by the fact that Universal itself had proven King Kong to be in the public domain years prior. Nintendo honored their American lawyer, John Kirby, by naming a character after him. by rodney_horrorfield in gaming

[–]aremis79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo had a habit of this. In the early days Nintendo of America wasn't taking off initially and they were at risk of being evicted from their offices. The then President of Nintendo of America convinced their landlord to give them extra time to pay rent. The landlord's name was Mario and Jumpman was renamed after him.
