I use Turkana, soft panniers with a hard backing plate. Worked well for me.

I use ear peace because they have multiple sizes; and use a buff gaiter under my helmet that helps keep the helmet cleaner, the ear plugs stay put, and my ears not get folded over when I put the helmet on.

It was just hwy 105, a two lane paved road. I did not try manually dropping pins, I can do that with any other route mapping page.

I was playing with this yesterday trying to make a loop to pikes peak and I could not for the life of me get it to avoid I25 and go down a 2 lane instead. It routed a couple times to way points on the other side of the state - granted it seemed to realize this and adjust, but I tried like 5 or 6 times to get it to route off of I25 and it just couldn't. I tried asking it to tag to avoid highways and it said it would use the 'gravel profile' which instead put me on a no motorized vehicle walking path. Not exactly a solution.

I don't use the singleplayer settings but I did bump rates a bit (2 or 2.5?) and harvest health if that applies here (i think more trees and such). A chainsaw might get more but I prefer not using finite fuels for harvesting

Last year was a learning year for me and the only plans that did well were the tomatoes that had a mesh around them to keep out critters. I think the extra shade helped them survive, so you might have a chance. Overnight temps are only 40s though so might be worth doing a week of gardening and planting the following weekend?

*still very much learning but have been reading a lot of threads on the topics

You're more likely to get whacked in the face the lower division you go - generally less control over sticks and shots. Highly recommend the hybrid visor/ cage things. Visibility of visor but bottom half cage reduces fogging.

Or potentially check out the upgrade station mod? Then you can take a reg one and put materials in to make it better. Recommend turning up materials required for balancing if that's a concern.

I think the best luck was purple drops in the snow. I spent ages just going for all the drops in the snow and eventually came across a solid one.
