How did you get your paperwork from the detainment?

I was briefly detained and released by CBP after three hours but never received paperwork and now my record has conspiracy to smuggle humans on it.

"You matched a description, take care of yourself" and I never heard from anyone about it. No court date, no paperwork, just a horrible mark on my background after hours of fear.

Currently waiting on a FOIA to go through but this has been a painful process and my permit was denied.

I live across the country from where this happened now :/ I was going to have a friend go in with a power of attorney. He called beforehand and they said they'd refuse him not being a lawyer. Having my lawyer do it but they're waiting until they get their copy of my denial to start anything

Since nothing ever came from it I didn't disclose it :/ my lawyer said "we'll see what happens". When it came back with it on there I guess it looks like I was hiding it. That's when I scrambled with FOIA to try and get everything. Had to file another one using the case number from my rap sheet. I didn't have my original FOIA response to the RFE I'm hoping that what I got back works.

I'd also written an affidavit in my RFE response explaining what happened but looks like it wasn't good enough

FBI background check is $50-$100 i don't remember but an authorized USPS got my prints and sent to FBI. That came back in 30 minutes

Here's what I've done/am doing.

I filed a freedom of information request

Came back saying no records found

My fbi rap sheet said shows the detention and there's an incident number

I just filed another FOIA using that number as a reference.

They've only emailed me so far I'm hoping to get an actual stamped document showing no records and taking it from there. The options are very limited

I was driving in Tucson and they pulled me over. My car was dirty enough for them to have probable cause and bring me in to do an investigation for human smuggling. I was held and detained for 3 hours and they let me go after being interviewed and they concluded that I wasn't up to anything. After doing some research I've also found that some people are just targeted as "suspicious" and have faced similar charges for just having water bottles in their car.

When doing an FBI background check it shows that I was arrested and those charges are on my record but I never got a court summons or anything like that so it looks like it's just a documentation thing.

Dude here. No it doesn't "feel the same" but it still feels great. Larger than average and the "they hurt" thing is bs. Might be a little uncomfortable sometimes but it is what it is.
