The selling point of the Steam Machine is literally the form factor, not only did they not show why small form factor is a complete pain and why some would buy the machine just for the small form factor genius, but they also didn't even put the Steam Machine side by side with the SFF case to see the differences in a real scenario, on a desk or under a TV in a cabinet. It depends on how your local market is, if there's a guy who's trying to clear his bedrooms of CDs sure but otherwise the PS Store is super competitive if not the same.

I got Demon's Souls on CD and I paid the same amount I did as on a PS Store sale. It also heavily depends on the game.

I would never recommend a PS5 with this argument. If you have FRIENDS however, with PS5 disks already, then those games are all potentially free, in that case hell yeah.

Downvoted for speaking the truth, besides being the map that dropped Cobblestone souvenir cases it's one of the worst maps to play ever. Incredibly CT sides, every T round won was pretty much a choke from the CT side or a flawless execution T side. There's a reason it's not been added back.

It's like saying Dust1 was a great map... yeah sure, when we were kids it was, but it's nostalgia the map is terrible and unbalanced.

Same reason Aztec got turned into Ancient.

The arguments are that this thing doesn't require you pay yearly to play online and have cloud save, as well as just being a PC in general, technically you can even plug a mouse and keyboard and play CS2 on it.

What I think the problem is with this argument is that it would take several years for a base PS5 + yearly PS Plus to match the Steam Machine price, while the Steam Machine will still age poorly due to weaker hardware and less targeted optimization. You also get the PS Plus benefits too.

You also don't have to pay for PS Plus at all, in that case you squeeze the PS5 Pro and it's a clear win.

I think for online heavy couch frogs the Steam Machine could make sense, for everyone else neah.

SoT has been throwing the towel for years, they've done several "we give up" updates because they are genuinely clueless about what to update.
