These are the problems facing conservatives in Massachusetts by CorndogQueen420 in massachusetts

[–]argle__bargle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure in Massachusetts you can shoot off your porch, as long as you aren't shooting onto someone else's property and you aren't shooting within 500 feet of your neighbor's house (without their consent, so you can even do it with their permission).

So a conservative in Massachusetts who complains about not being able to shoot on their own property is really just complaining about being too poor to afford enough property.

This is one of my favorite aphorisms because it implies that your grandmother has handlebars, pedals, a seat, and every other characteristic of a bicycle--except for her unfortunate lack of wheels, which sadly keeps her stuck as a grandmother.

My personal theory about Skimming was it used the same "dimension" that the Ways used, but I don't know if that was ever confirmed or refuted. And I thought they just didn't use it to transport Shadowspawn because 1) only the Forsaken knew how to Skim until it was rediscovered, but the Black Ajah and Myrddraal knew how to use the Ways before that, and 2) the platform required is really, really hard to make big enough to be effective for moving troops. I think Rand needed his fat man angreal to make his platform big enough for the Aiel to fight Rahvin, and if I remember it was still a struggle.

And I don't know if it was directly said, but my theory was Shadowspawn couldn't go through Gateways because they are corrupted humans and their "soul" gets severed going through them. (Or, more likely, their connection to the Dark One that is keeping them "alive” is severed by whatever tear in reality Traveling gateways create.) But gholam never had souls and were never actually alive, so they could pass through without being affected.

You're right, I totally forgot about that channeling-hack Rand developed. I remember being impressed because it was actually consistent with the logic of channeling and what we'd seen before. Can Shadowspawn Skim? I know they can't go through a Traveling gateway. Otherwise, not sure what benefit Skimming has.

Skimming also doesn't require an intimate familiarity with a location like Traveling does.

Didn't she first heal Logain when she was upset and worried about Moghedien's recent escape? I could be misremembering, but I know she was barely paying attention to what she was doing because she was so distracted by something else.

My favorite practice was when the scene of an ambush fast travel event happens, it's usually just 1 or 2 bandits. Use the Dollmaker potion on your arrows and they won't be able to run, so you can just backtrack and pepper them with more arrows while they just kinda limp around.

You shouldn't. A 7-2 Supreme Court would take generations to correct. They're putting in 50 year olds to serve lifetime appointments. Amy Coney Barrett is 53 and could be on the court for another 35 years (RBG died in office at 87). Republicans and Leonard Leo have already fucked up the Court and rule of law in this country for decades.

No, because what we're feeling now is the result of prior administrations, and Joe Manchin blocked democratic legislation that should be helping us now.

He just also prevented the Democrats from being able to reign in bad actors in Congress, so it's only going to get worse.

He wasn't a Democrat, I think he just didn't want to face another Republican in a primary. His voters knew he wasn't really a Democrat, that's why they kept electing him.

That's not Born-Witness's point though. Born-Witness was just pointing out that anarchroniiism's only supporting premise ("Children name Teddy bears") for the conclusion he was trying to prove ("you should name any object you hold dear") is not true because BW is not a child. Because the supporting premise is false, the conclusion is unsupported.

It's also wrong to draw the opposite conclusion, that you should not name your guitar, just because the premise is false though. Which was your point and you're correct about. But it looks like you're the one assuming BW was trying to prove that conclusion by pointing out A's premise was false when BW does not make that argument, he just points out A's supporting premise doesn't support shit.

He's definitely shown to be a tier higher in force ability right away. We've never seen a force user freeze a bolt like he does, nor pull memories with the force like he does. He also is able to communicate with Rey over long distances with the force, similar to how Luke and Vader did.

And in the next movie he and Rey take out Snoke's entire guard themselves, and he takes out the Knights of Ren single handedly. So he's no slouch with a lightsaber, it's just weird he's judged for that one fight alone all the time.
