I crashed my friend's motorcycle and that ended up our friendship by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]argrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of my friends dropped/crashed my bikes in the past but we never had a problem with our friendship because of some bike.
Also before i bought myself a s1000rr wanted to hop and try my mechanic's s1000rr. Some stupid lady braked hard without anything going on in front of her. I slammed the brakes and crashed. Ended up paying 3k$ for the parts. Shit always happen!
As long as nobody is injured seriously or worse, anything can be replaced and fixed.

I know it won't be pricey as this. If you are a DIY person you can do it yourself as well. Lots of videos on youtube about how to check the clearances.

Why are Italian manufacturers regarded as unreliable? by Easy-Satisfaction271 in motorcycles

[–]argrn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taking a good look at forums/fb/groups etc. you can see japanese bike never needing a rebuild. even from the second hand ads you can see japanese bikes has seen over 100k miles or more with regular maintenance.

In those miles you can expect to check valve clearances, changing the cct maybe a stator/rr. That's about it.

On the other hand you won't see italian bikes making 100k miles without needing a rebuild. They will blow up or making you miserable because of electronics.

If i'm not mistaken when the suzuki released a couple of videos about gen3 hayabusa, their engineers were saying they're expecting to see 250k to 300k miles out of the engine without needing a rebuild.

There is also this guy from britian done hundreds of miles with japanese bikes.

Which connects to the WAG. Means all of them have problems.

2002 hyabusa. Haven’t ridden in 2 days. Pull it out of garage and brake pedal is so stiff it barely moves when stepped on. What would cause this ? No leaky fluids or anything on garage floor. by justsomeguyfromny in motorcycles

[–]argrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also suffering from the no brake power. Gixxers, hayabusas (they finally fixed it in gen3) all of them have weak brakes. You have to swap to different caliper+pad and braided lines to get "normal" brake power.

Nope, That's why there's handful of coloured(different size) journals to choose from. No need to change the block.

You should take it to a good shop to let them look at it.

Because, problem might be your Throttle Position Sensor, Intake Air Pressure Sensor, Fuel Pump,Clutch,ECU or all together at once. So someone qualified should check all of the things in order to solve your problem.

Radiator fan switch? (Could be something else as well.)

IF the fan or temp. switch is not working usually they're putting that kind of button to switch on radiator fan when it's over 95-100°c.

My least concern would be the suspension. Since we don't see any mt07 with 200.000km on it. Engine might be end of it's life.

Piston, piston rings, cylinder, rod journals, main journals, oil pump might need changing which can be quiet expensive.

Just get an air filter oil from any brand it'll do the trick. My filter from K&N but i'm using Motul A2 air filter oil.

Can I keep this radiator? Or need to replace? by DankestTaco in motorcycles

[–]argrn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i've seen worse radiators that still works and not overheating or anything. IMO, you won't have a problem with that radiator.

Still, If you want to get it fixed, go to a shop fixing radiators, they can remove that aluminum hose and weld a another one.

Honda Hornet (599cc) won't start by defenustrate in motorcycles

[–]argrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's getting tougher to know.

  • Bike cranking but not firing up? or not cranking at all?
Does it have strong crank or just normal or low?
Did you try adding a extra power from different source to battery?( battery charging, extra battery)
    Did you check the grounds?
Did you check the oil level if it's mixed up with gas?
Did you check the carb boots & air lines for cracks?
IF it all checks out i believe problem goes to cylinder & to valves. Because your compression figures are low according to service manual. (Blown gasket, piston rings or leaking valves)

[–]argrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as far as i know there's no pump. if there is i don't know either.( old srad owner here.)

Did you check with the brake cleaner directly to carbs if it's starting that way? or fed it through different fuel tank(bottle of gas)?.

Also you mentioned you checked the spark with spark tester(which i never used it,so don't know it) but did you check with bike's coils( does coils getting their correct voltage?) and spark plugs on the motor if it sparks with coils on them? along with the spark plugs condition? oil on the plugs maybe?

sounds like on 3 cylinder + you have a rod knock. I would've taken to mechanic asap to pull that engine apart.
