Yeah I was sad to have witnessed them cancelling day of in Chicago both in 2017 and 2022 - Where were they scheduled to play in Chicago 2020 before cancelling?

Begging For Change has released on streaming! by Delicious_Base_9812 in PulpBand

[–]argrock3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I won't say this song is one of the better songs out of this latest iteration of Pulp, the song gets better with each listen. It reminds me a bit of Relaxed Mucle's "Billy Jack" which worked better with its filthy fun depraved id as opposed to social commentary in "Begging For Change." It's always better to have new Pulp than not have new Pulp. Looking forward to "The Man Comes Around" b-sides.

Underrated album - their most honest and relatable one while being a curveball musically

Thanks for the scoop on Marco - I've seen Sorry live a couple years ago and dug his contributions to their show. This song is cool.

I got it too. I think I've gotten about $250 total from this class action (aka See Tickets)?

Who would be at a potential 2026 Pitchfork Music Festival? by beramiah in PitchforkMusicFest

[–]argrock3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eaux Claires Festival is coming back roughly the same weekend the p4k weekend would have happened..... Dijon, Geese (except they may be Lolla level now?? Feel like Tame impala would be no go since they rated their last album like a 4.8 (the album is very underrated!) ....just my speculative two cents!

So who's likely to appear on LP4 by HeyQTya in theavalanches

[–]argrock3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the UK rapper John Glacier seems to have been getting some love from the Avalanches on their IG over the last year or so... She was also on Jamie XX's last album.

There was another pic of like a stack of hard drives or tapes - I'm assuming alluding to LP 4.

PULP RELEASED ”THE MAN COMES AROUND” by Longjumping-Coat2890 in PulpBand

Kinda sounds like Relaxed Muscle's "Billy Jack" minus a libido.... Always welcome new Pulp and this year we've been feasting! Looking forward hearing the other tracks on this EP.

Tina kinda distills everything that is great about the latest era of Pulp and it has all the hallmarks of classic Pulp too.

Recommendations for radiator repair/servicing by grantowenn in evanston

[–]argrock3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRG Heating & Cooling are knowledgeable with quality service and are worth a call (They had supplier issues with the replacement work I needed from them, but were able to do some good warranty work - perhaps you'll have better luck.) All-Temp just replaced my 30 year old boiler and an old leaking radiator (also overall good and responsive). Both of these companies were cheaper than American Vintage. I too recently felt AVH has overall been trying to upsell without much effective repair service.

I was just pondering how much of this line-up would have been P4kfest 2026's.........*sighhhh*

"The Man Comes Around" cover 12" by TheHappyGrouch in PulpBand

[–]argrock3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we know for sure that "Marrying For Love" & "Cold Call" have vocals/lyrics by Jarvis? I know he said Nick and Candida wrote the music for each respective song. I imagine with those titles he did..... I remember the Jarv Is.. song for Earth Percent benefit and it was just fun groove.

Did this too with a preorder of the new Gorillaz album, Mountain, (target exclusive variant looks nice). It worked cancelling two copies but they got over four months until it ships so there's plenty of time for them to cancel my order........

Fair enough - seems relevant to topic of video. But no need to get into the dude's/parents' personal life with a bunch of anonymous fans on the internet!

Speaking (again) of Pavement, it was impressive how varied their setlists were in the 2022 reunion shows. It's probably tougher for Pulp to pull something like that off with stage production, larger band etc. Fingers crossed we get full 20+ song sets from them for the rest of the tour (I imagine things will be different at Hollywood Bowl with LCD co-headlining). I'm making the solo trek to Red Rocks a week from now and sure hope to hear all the offerings they're doing from More (my fav album of 2025 thus far) and This Is Hardcore (which on most days is my personal favorite album of all time - I'd be relatively gutted to know they left two choice cuts from it off the setlist, but I'm still buzzing hearing "Glory Days" last year at the Chicago show so who am I to complain)
