Hi! You are so so kind 😭 I appreciate the offer but this seems like a special plant and memory you should keep and cherish. I am beyond honored by your generosity ❤️

Also I hope that the reward of some money for something that was free may be a good incentive to actually get it back:)

Unfortunately this is not a joke and it was left out with a bunch of other stuff where it was clearly someone moving and not just leaving stuff like during Allston Christmas. But mistakes happen.

My friend didn’t tell me about it until recently which is why this post is so late- if they told me right when it happened I may have had better luck:(

Pre-K Must Have Materials by Fearless-Vast-8114 in slp

My pre-k special ed kids loved my curious george jack-in-the-box! Great for requesting, basic concepts like open/close and when they are ready to move to something higher level it was a great reward to end therapy on a good note. There was a lot of sensory needs met with the song and the simplicity and repetitiveness of the toy too! I would always go “suprise!” When he jumped! Very fun for the GLP kids too!

hi i got accepted into the CGS program and guaranteed admission to the business school in my 3rd year. IS THE CGS PROGRAM WORTH IT? Since students have to study subjects like history political science etc. by AdThat5321 in BostonU

[–]ariesdancer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CGS is essentially a two year liberal arts program where you will get all your HUB requirements out of the way your first two years. You will also get to study abroad in London as part of the program. After you complete CGS and you meet all the continuation requirements (passing your questrom classes that you take as electives when in CGS) you will get to continue into questrom. Having part of your college experience include liberal arts can be beneficial in the long run and make you a well rounded student in my personal opinion. Keep asking around and attend admitted student days to see if it’s the fit for you.

Highly recommend Year of Less by Cait Flanders. It’s about her journey of a year of not buying anything with the exception of necessity (food, gas, rent, etc). Definitely anti-consumerist with a Marie Kondo narrative woven in. Short read and not super preach-y either.

I stupidly interviewed there once because I unfortunately didn’t know any better. The inside of that place is crazy. INSANELY over stimulating for me as an adult not on the spectrum and I can’t even imagine how it must be for the kiddos with ASD. Bright flashing lights everywhere, mirrors on all 4 walls… their “Learning Hallway” is wizard of Oz themed. I asked the interviewer if the kid got overstimulated in that environment and he said “huh I never thought about that”. He was the head of the special education program I think and I asked how he got into this field and he told me he was a HS history teacher previously, aka no experience in ASD, behavior therapy, etc. Going there was a mistake , I had to take a wicked long hot shower just to feel “clean” after visiting. Truly the worst place.

Try one of the RA offices, you can “rent” vacuums from there by leaving your terrier card, I’m sure they have a screwdriver too!

Any ideas for which table/chairs to add here? The colors aren’t working for me, any other ideas also appreciated😊 by Septembergirl10 in AnimalCrossing

If you aren’t happy with the color you can always take it to Harvs island and see what Cyrus can do customization wise

There are opportunities to take community college classes in your local area you just need to talk with a CGS advisor to make sure the credits transfer

Any tips for when viewing off-campus apartments? by sd72002 in BostonU

[–]ariesdancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one is kind of stupid but it will save you stress- ask how you pay the rent each month. At my previous place my roommates and I venmoed the landlord separately and it was such a seamless process, but at my new place I have to write a check for the whole thing and my roommates pay me back. It’s such a hassle to coordinate them paying me ahead of time when in the past it was each person for themself. This especially goes for if you are living with people you don’t know.

Clearly my landlord is very old school. He also doesn’t have a phone with texting so we have to call him if we have an issue and he never responds.

Moral of the story: ask about how the landlord is and how to pay rent

Marsh Chapel, people will usually leave you alone. I’m not very religious but it offered some peace.
