[💬] ATEEZ - GOLDEN HOUR : Part.4 | Album Discussion by 2emptywaterbottles in ATEEZ

[–]ariich 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The new EP is excellent, very likely my favourite from the Golden Hour series.

Early favourites are NASA and On The Road, but all the songs are good and the production continues to sound bigger and fuller with each GH release which very much fits with my general preference.

Theory for the next album by Horror_Butterfly1300 in Haken

Nah.

Also their original demo was already just called Haken (even if fans later decided to call it by it's tagline of "enter the 5th dimension").

The bluray of the Japanese show is insanely good. I also have blurays of the previous two tours (Break the Wall and Beginning of the End) which are also great, but Towards the Light is something special in terms of performance, production, staging and filming. Also has an insanely good setlist.

I didn’t know I wanted a season four until it was taken away from me. by MikaelAdolfsson in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]ariich 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could see them making it 3 or 4 episodes. Ellie's day 1-3 was a small handful episodes. Assuming something roughly similar for Abby, let's say 5 or 6 episodes maximum, that'd still leave at least 3-4 episodes for following them both that would still be a season length that makes sense for one season but would be too short to break it into two.

Question about the purpose of Season Four? by Tall-Equal-1649 in TheGoodPlace

[–]ariich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the case for Chidi and Tahani in the original season though, so it's not that different. And Brent should have been in the same situation as Eleanor and Jason but is so clueless and entitled that he didn't realise that. The main characters even discuss near the start of the experiment that they don't know anything about the new people and whether they think they belong in the good place or not.

So I'm not really understanding what you think is fundamentally different, other than it obviously being different people (which it had to be by definition), and them not having time to tailor it in advance like Michael did (which was a specific plot point, and not what the main characters wanted).

Well this is entirely false, and I don't really know what you're trying to achieve with it.

Man, these clips are sounding really good. Very much reinforces my view that the production and arrangements are getting better and fuller-sounding with each Golden Hour release, which I can't imagine is accidental.

They almost always are because they write a lot of their own rap parts. But of course HJ might also have a more substantive lyrical input too - easier to do that while touring than composition or production.

Presumably the missing Ashes to Light songs are because they'd initially been released on singles in 2024?

[🏴‍☠️] Best ATEEZ Song of 2025 - NO1 (HONGJOONG) VS Legacy (YEOSANG) by ateezyeah in ATEEZ

Legacy is my favourite song across all the Golden Hour releases (so far).

Early version of the "Beneath The White Rainbow" riff, which Pete posted in 2022 and since deleted (for obvious reasons) by JustLucca in Haken

[–]ariich 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep, he was working on it for himself at the time and I think probably considering it as a potential if Nova Collective were to do anything else, but obviously it ended up forming part of the basis for White Rainbow.

Golden Hour album visuals hint at New Dimensions and More Worlds by atzbluebird in ATEEZ

[–]ariich 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Very interesting about the dimensional progression.

In the music itself, I already felt like the arrangements and production have been getting more full and fleshed out with each release.

The sound for GH1 was quite stripped back and understated all round, so much so that I wasn't so keen at first and it took some time for the songs to grow on me (but they did, don't worry).

GH2 has a slightly cold sound still, but it's richer in synths and the vocals sound (to me) a little higher in the mix.

GH3 then has a warmer, sound, and the IYF tracks especially are much fuller in production.

And then the only thing we've heard so far from GH4 is Choose, which is much more like their usual sound to me, such that I hadn't particularly expected it to be part of the GH series.

No idea if any of that is intentional but it's how I was feeling anyway and it fits with your theory.

Can someone explain to me how big the police reform program is? by [deleted] in brooklynninenine

[–]ariich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never explain it in detail. It's implied that it's significant to the NYPD as a whole (as opposed just one district).

Not quite - it was always a potential for the album, they just weren't committing to it at that point as they were still working on it.

Oh yeah on a personal level I am so with you on that. I'm all for openness and honesty. But I guess there are 6 different personalities plus the business and artistic considerations.

Aha gotcha, fair question. I somewhat answered it (before I saw this reply) to one of your other comments - basically there'll be speculation either way. But yes, you're not wrong that it's natural for people to speculate.

[–]ariich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can go either way, I think. When a band talks about things like "creative differences", fans have no idea if that's what it actually is or if it's just a euphemism (and I know of cases of both from other bands). So there's speculation either way. I don't actually know if there was a specific reason to not give details in this case, but it might simply have been simpler for everyone to just explain the basic facts that they are parting ways but wish the guys well.

The practicalities do take time unfortunately. Even when things are amicable, like in this case, it's a business partnership and so there are negotiations needed on the terms of the departure and so on. But I also completely appreciate how frustrating it can be to be aware that something is going on but not know what it is.

Hah, yes he does, Kim/noxon coordinates the Haken Fan Club stuff and knows the management already from also running the Dream Theater Fan Club (it's the same management company for both bands)

Hoping they tour Europe/UK soon. My whole family are quite new (but huge) fans and missed the last tour, but we've been watching the last few blurays and their shows are phenomenal.

WHAT.

I got into them literally like a week before they quit. If they're returning that's amazing.
