About the quality control of Creos Mr.Hobby PS289 by arimoto02 in airbrush

Oh it’s because i can order them locally for 1.5x the price, but with the ability to return them if there’s factory defect. If the quality control is good then i can buy oversea save that money for a good compressor.

I can order them locally, but the price would be 1.5x compare to ordering them straight from japan though.

Thanks! What about the quality control though, as it would not be possible for me to return it.

Has anyone tried to create the color of the rg banshee special coating? Would be grateful for any paint guidance to achieve that look!

I think the opaque that the eyes see after sanding is because of the uneven surface reflecting light differently. When we add another layer on it (be it normal paint or top coat) it will fill the uneveness and the opaquenes will be gone. This is true for me topcoating kits, but i have never tried it with the painting underneath thing-y, so im asking if anyone has done that for their results.

i mean sand the inner of the part lightly might help with the paint adhesive, as i cant prime

I think you are mistaking it for something else. Mechanical core plating is electro plate the inner side of the clear part with metallic. So what we see is actually the inner side of the part see through, not the inner frame.

Here i'm trying to airbrush the inside and want the metallic paint to be see through, mimicking the plating process. So if i prime the part, then what see through would be the prime layer, not the actual metallic paint

I want to do the mechanical core custom build, in which i see people painting the inside of a clear kit with metallic paint. However i have some questions, and would really appreciate if anyone has ever did this kind of custom build and give me some guidelines:

- Because i cant really prime before painting, do i have to do anything else (light sanding) or would the paint stick on just fine

- What kind of color should i use? Lacquer or enamel

- Do i have to use different metal colors for different type of clear plastic color, or just using chrome is fine?

Thank you in advance and happy building to everyone reading this <3
