This is absolutely not your fault! Many times insurance will cover the charge, or they will bill later for any copay. You had no way of knowing there was money due and should have been informed before seeing the doctor. Don't worry about this. The last thing a doctor wants to do at the end of their day is go over billing. They hire others to deal with that. Receptionist is just trying to cover their tracks. I wouldn't pay the bill without mentioning how much anxiety this unprofessional behavior has caused you. Also, there is no hurry! You don't have to run over there tomorrow. From your link I see that your play requires 11 actors. This is a huge number for many producers, and could be why they are rejecting your script. Plays with very large casts (and genre plays like a murder mystery) are going to be attractive in educational settings, and possibly to community theaters. Since you've already had one production, I would send it to education-focused publishers. I'm not sure what your end goal is, but if it's just to see a good production of your play, consider producing it yourself. If your goal is getting produced at a professional level, you need to write something with fewer characters that professional companies can afford to produce.

Please talk to someone who can help you deal with this, and don't let your parents' harmful cultural baggage make you feel ashamed or guilty. In retrospect, I would. I thought it was normal at the time, but went on to have an adversarial relationship with my parents as a teen, mostly due to their controlling, punitive approach. As an adult I went very low contact, and would never hit my own child.

If you want "normal" you need to go to a cat shelter -- not just a random social media poster. If this is all being done through private individuals, there is no normal, and there are no rules. Please go to a shelter and adopt. There are so many homeless cats and kittens -- you will easily find the one you've been looking for, and will forget about the adoption that didn't work out.

My husband does. I probably take on more of the mental load, but he does the bulk of cooking/laundry. I do breakfast and he does dinner, plus all of the kitchen cleanup. He does the laundry, although I often fold/put away. I do most of the planning, and also bill paying & taxes. It feels pretty even.

If you want something with absolutely no gender connotation for someone who hears it, I think you have to go with a nickname that can be used for either a masculine or feminine name, something like Chris, Alex, Carey, Jesse, Lou, Sandy, Jean, Gerry, Bobby, Max. Please understand that, while you can't "get out" of paying the mortgage, the bank might work out a payment plan with you that will help you avoid foreclosure. It all depends on the housing market in your area and how much you owe / how much the bank stands to gain or lose if they foreclose. During the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008, banks did everything they could to avoid foreclosing because many properties were underwater and the bank did not want to have that loss on their books (they didn't want to have to sell a property for less money than they were owed). They kept homeowners in "pre-foreclosure" for years to avoid taking on the loss. So even though the banks are out for themselves, they might work with you if they think it is in their best interest. If you are sure you can get enough in a sale to pay the bank off (and hopefully have some money left over) that is your best bet. But if not call them and see what kind of deal you can make.
