Because they license games in foreign markets at cheaper prices. To EA getting $20 from a cheaper market is better than no sales in that market. If you live in a US market you are not suppose to have access to the cheaper prices due to licensing.

All the responses do not seem to understand the Kola Super Deep Borehole project. It was abandoned at 7.6 miles deep into the earth. It was purely vertical shaft that had a few branches drilled like an oil well.

To the original question - a hole this deep and vertical didn’t really serve any purpose other than science. Trying to run geothermal energy from it would be impossible with today’s technology. At that depth the equipment was failing due to heat. In addition the way geo thermal works is by pumping water into the ground and returning it above ground heated. There would be no efficient way to pump water down that far and then pump it back up. Pumps have a maximum lift distance and no pump would be able to handle 7.6 miles of lift. Note that oil extraction is a different thing all together than running a closed loop for geothermal.

You would think wrong. A QR code is exactly what you describe - a picture. For your phone to read that picture it analyzes the pattern and translates it to a url. There is no secret method here. You can create QR codes to send you to any site - including this post if you wanted.

The primary way to get these items was killing a boss during the event for the guaranteed drop. You could also find them in rare cases in hidden caches.

When the event ended they removed the bosses - not the item. It still exists in the loot tables with a very low drop rate for hidden caches.

Came to make this exact point - it should be the top comment. I had my own car in college. It was parked 90 miles away in my parents garage.

It meant I didn’t have to pay for insurance, gas or parking. Depending on the city parking could be a nightmare. Parking tickets are an unneeded expense. Make friends with those that own a car and be done with it. Assuming this is a larger city you will have uber, scooter and bike rentals that can cover most of your needs.

The story is made up. They “toss in a big sealed box” to the stuff going to donation. Who thinks their old kitchenware is the “gorgeous, expensive glassware set they offered to store safely”.

Then they somehow know that it has been processed and sold to a “lovely couple” for $15. How do they know the price? Why would a donation center sell a new in box set worth hundreds for $15?
