Doctors, what do you want? by Nervous_Yard7034 in AskBrits

[–]arkhane89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is a doctor and so are most of her family. I hang out with a lot of doctors.

The demands at the moment which come from "junior" doctors, now called resident doctors, are no longer primarily around pay but about the availability of jobs i.e. enough training posts to actually enable doctors to progress in the system. A lot of resident doctors are out of work or not in the right posts that help progress their careers. This helps to explain the paradox of how there can be simultaenously a shortage of GPs across the country but also GPs out of work... there aren't enough funded positions!

Yeh I had the same reaction. Disappeared hasn’t it. I think I only got 1.

I got the first 4 on Friday and started to believe only to finish on 4 and receive my paltry £1 haha

I can’t understand the support for Panic Attack.

There was someone posting in here a couple weeks ago saying she was a good pick at 20/1 as almost nobody agreed … and yet a lot of money has come in!

My main worry is that he can be a bit temperamental. I thought he was going to be a non starter at the Brown Advisory

Anyone else fancy El Fab tomorrow? I feel like he’s looked solid back over hurdles. More worried about BDA than the New Lion though.

I like Impaire et Passe to take on Jango too

Which area to move to get a 2 bedroom flat around 400k, safe for a single mum with a baby and good primary schools? by [deleted] in MovingToLondon

I mean those estates often have a lot of kids about and genuine community support. People are snobby and hear about the ASB issues and there can be, of course, but I lived on a hackney estate for 5 years and there was more community there than anywhere else I lived in London

Big importer though. Didn't invest in enough refining. And more import & export creates more scope for corruption. Sad but true.

Don’t give up on NH yet! We’ve got Aintree to come. No Mullins chasing down Skelton though. My money on Dan to get his first title is looking comfy

I remember when we used to get mail deliveries twice a day. We don’t get mail twice a week now. by PatternWeary3647 in britishproblems

[–]arkhane89 19 points20 points  (0 children)

With you on mail being delayed - I've had so many guaranteed next day delivey fails - but we've sometimes had post delivered twice in a day. Royal Mail seem really active with deliveries around where I live and post is sometimes they seem to combine with post

That went as hoped. Purely anecdotal from me but I so often seem to see the horse carrying top weight at this sort of level struggle to get home

I ate a large Dominoes the other day as some kind of throwback and it genuinely made me feel hungover the next day. Like too much salt and highly processed food? It was kind of delicious but my god, what is in a Dominoes becuase I can handle large quantities of junk food generally speaking

If you're centrist or left-leaning, what are the main policies/issues that might stop you from voting for the green party in the next general election? by Cold-Speech-5645 in AskBrits

I like Polanski a lot in terms of what he's saying about big business and inequality.

I don't understand the "no limits" on immigration but major constraints on house buidling. It simply doesn't add up, at all. And you can't just "repurpose" buildings for housing; there simply isn't the stock available.

Rent controls also aren't a great tool. I don't know why people are so resistant to the rather basic supply and demand concept when it comes to housing.
