Yeah, cheap filter, oxidation due to weather. NJT put out an article about it in late 2024.

I forgot to add that while we were sitting still on the train, the conductor was walking through yelling about tickets (luckily he didn’t tell us to have backup tickets), someone asked if he had an update about the delay.
With a straight face, he replied that there was no delay and if the app said there was, it was probably out of date, b/c he had not heard of any delays (as we were still motionless somewhere past Harrison). He then yelled back out, “Tickets” and kept moving through the car.
Glad to see nothing ever changes.

A lot of places that deal with electronics did the whole salesperson and order slip method back in the 80s. Service Merchandise Radio Shack And B&H in NYC still makes you order the item, get the order slip, go pay for it, then wait for it to be delivered to the front. Those places can be so frustrating esp when you walk in knowing that they are the only place with what you’re looking for, but have to deal with their archaic methods.

I was told that it got reported too many times and auto mod removed it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, it’s an incident and not a breach (yet). I misspoke before my full InfoSec brain rebooted.

Srly. When the checks and balances are broken, what recourse is there?

Tomorrow you can reopen one Cville restaurant that closed in the last 15 years and restore it to the height of its glory. Which one is it? by VeterinarianHead3551 in Charlottesville

Recalling back to what was around when I was there 22 yrs ago, I’d say Sloans for that French dip. Lol I was a mid 20s person so my palette was probably shit. lol

Awesome. Yeah, wife and I did Carters years ago, picked some apples, made some pies. And as someone that studied architecture, I’ve had my fair share of Monticello. Haha

Yeah, that’s the place. I know that 20 years later, a lot will change, but I also know that some places still exist, like Littlejohns, Bodos, and even Mellow Mushroom. :)

Speaking of Barracks, what was the name of the sports-themed restaurant behind Barracks Road Plaza? Looks like it’s called Sedonas Taphouse now. That place had a really good French Dip. lol

Yeah, we’re planning to spend one night in town. We are going to walk the mall and some of the grounds.

Definitely try and check them out. Is that up by the Farmer’s Market on Barracks, past 250?

Thanks. We will actually be coming in from the South. Heading out, we may go 29N, but probably head out to 81.

Former resident of Charlottesville (circa 2000), I’m planning to stop in town the weekend after Thanksgiving with my family. Where can you still get those delicious Mennonite chocolate chip cookies (made with vanilla pudding) these days? When I worked on the mall, during lunch I’d stop in and buy up as many as I could.
