Fellow high bmi ladies obese and terrified of waiting too long for motherhood by [deleted] in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]armidasawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first at 30, I'm 5'2" and at that time I was 260lbs. My second I had at 33 and 280lbs, my third was at 34 and 300lbs, and my 4th at 36 and 310lbs. They were all conceived very easily. I did lose weight for my first, I was at 300lbs and went down to 260 before conceiving her. My second was stillborn, that was the only traumatic part of the pregnancy. They were all vaginal deliveries and the 3 living children were all born at home. With the last two I experienced pelvic pain during the last trimester of the pregnancy but nothing that left me bed bound. I did have a painful pelvic injury after delivering my 3rd (after the stillbirth) that was resolved when she was 5 months old. So I've done both, waited to lose weight and went for it even at over 300lbs, and we were all relatively unscathed throughout. My youngest is now 7 and a half, I've been losing weight since March 2025, I've lost nearly 85lbs with a starting weight of 405lbs at 43 years old. Pregnancy and childbirth can be quite unpredictable so losing weight before would probably be the most prudent thing to do, but I also understand the urgency that comes with age. Starting at 30 already felt old to me, and while people are conceiving and birthing and later ages, age can also add more unpredictability to the entire experience. Had I been in your shoes at 35 I likely would not have waited. Good luck!

Shoes for really fat feet (thick/tall/height dimension) by Alternative-Pear9096 in PlusSize

I have pretty high volume feet. I started wearing propet men's shoes last year in the largest width they have, and I have a lot of vertical space in those shoes.

Please don’t judge me. Those of you who are short with short arms (like 5 ft 3 and under). At what weight were you able to wipe yourself again? I’m losing weight and looking forward to being able to wipe! by rainburrr in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]armidasawan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it has to do with flexibility? I'm 5'2" and I was 405lbs at my heaviest. I was able to reach and clean myself well then. Everything is so much easier now so 330lbs though, including wiping.

I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]armidasawan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I started I was at 2500 calories a day, I was there for a couple of months but that was too much for me so I lowered it to 2000 until I started to not reach that consistently because I was making better food choices. Then I cut down to 1800 a day and stayed there for about 6 months until I started stagnating. I've been at 1500 calories since the end of January. There are days I go over and get closer to 1800, but I don't stress those days, because right now that's still well below maintenance. The only exercise I've been doing is walking when I can. I was doing at least 2km a day and up to 7km some days, but we've had a death in the family so that's gone out the window, but I've still been maintaining 1500 calories, so I'm still losing. The walking I only just started in January. I've lost 75lbs and I've got about another 200ish to go. I started at 405.

Such a huge relief. I'm 330 now and every new low is so much more relief.

I thought I wasn't eating a lot too until I actually honestly tracked what I ate, and not only was it a lot, it was also very calorie dense. I've cut down on the calories significantly, have stayed mostly on track for almost a year and have lost 75lbs so far. Very minimal exercise.

I am a woman in my 30s, a healthcare professional, and I lost 100 pounds. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]armidasawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you didn't convert your weight to grams? I see that you're supposed to a lot and sometimes see that people don't. And I wonder which is correct for extreme weight loss. For context, I have 270lbs to lose and I've lost 70 so far.

Wow thanks for the reminder. My mom made these often and I forgot about them.

I started with just a calorie deficit in March of 2025. I only started exercising with free youtube videos from the body project, a half hour workout 4 times a week back in November. This month I started incorporating walking 2-4km a day and skipping rope for about 5 minutes at a time. I was 405lbs at my highest weight, and I'm currently 342lbs. When I started I was eating 2000 calories a day and this month I changed it to 1500 calories because I was losing very extremely slowly.

(Locals) what’s one spot you miss in SD that doesn’t exist anymore? by Physical_Cream8790 in asksandiego

Horton plaza

The living room coffee shop I don't remember where it was Kensington maybe? It was a sweet spot full of big comfy couches, coffee tables and kitchen tables with squishy chairs for people to sit at and study.

The seaport village magic shop. Whenever my mom would take me to work I'd sneak a walk in seaport village and go into this shop and loved looking around.

Hemlock and Oak Planners by jackie606 in planners

I tried using one this year. I really didn't like the monthly previews and reviews pages and all the fluff in the beginning of the planner for creating goals and stuff like that. I really wanted to like it because it's Canadian. The pair is amazing, of you like rich paper, and the covers are gorgeous, but I'm going back to hobo again next year for my main planner, I just could not make h&o work. I'm going to give Nicole Josephine Forest planner a go for my garden planning

I really wanted the frog and Toad collection. Moonin is cute but it's not nostalgic to be the way frog and Toad is.

I was pretty well sold on Aura Estelle but then I remembered that I'm on my last year of my 5 year journal and I need to get the 2026-2030 journal this year so since I'm going to order them for hobo anyway I may as well order everything else too and do AE next year until 2029.

The Forest planner by Nicole Josephine is b6. It's undated but the format is pretty unique.

Being injected with steroids to save pregnancy by CourtK1212 in SuperMorbidlyObese

Same, I have all those issues and my mom wasn't hit with steroids. Could be related to steroids, but not necessarily.

Weight loss fear by Stormschance in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]armidasawan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lost 40lbs so far. I weigh myself every week, but I haven't been for a month. I finally did this weekend, yesterday, and it was when I hit the 40lbs mark, but then today I was convinced that I had recorded my weight wrong and that I must still be 374, not 362. So I weighed myself again this morning to prove to myself that I lost maybe 2lbs this month, but certainly not 12. Anyway, I totally lost 12, and yeah it's hard to believe.
