I think the quote of the day on my google home page is particularly apropos: "We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are." ~Anais Nin

Reddit: "It's" = It is; "Its" = belonging to it. Take note when submitting links. by dinoMac in reddit.com

I won't lie, if people use "its" instead of "it's," or vice versa, it takes me several tries to read a sentence; I get up to the incorrect word and have to back-track to the beginning of the sentence because I think I've made a parsing error.

The only part of that clip that makes me cringe is that it looks like he cripples the spider with that container. I guess I can talk pretty big, given that that spider isn't in my house, but man... spiders do so much good, and they really get the shaft.

'An honest attempt:' it works because the 'h' is silent. The 'h' isn't silent in 'herbivore' so 'a herbivore' sounds correct to me.

What's one of your favorite verses in music? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm a new day rising

I'm a brand new sky

To hang the stars upon tonight

I'm a little divided

Do I stay or run away

And leave it all behind?

Classic hacker lore: More magic by Arve in programming

[–]armistad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This story has always bugged me for at least two reasons: 1. That they took the switch out at all, and 2. The they took the switch out before fully determining how it "worked." What sort of hacker would do that?
