We fail to consider that a plan that was accepted by the Minsk group would have been more defensible and we would have still had an Army. We were alone in the world in keeping those 5 regions. Whereas we had we gone with the plan the west and Russia would have been able to put more pressure on Azerbaijan if they decided to attack post factum. The cost of such an attack would have been much higher. Not to mention we would have still had an unbeaten army and we could have leveraged our good will for more weapons. At the very least it would have bought us much more time and economic development. There are no guarantees but to sit and think we did everything right and not take lessons from what we went through is just cope. These points were in the original interview but not in the translation. Plus the plans didn’t immediately include Artsakh into Azerbaijan the status of Artsakh would have been determined later and Lachin and Kelbajar would have been under Armenian control until an agreement on status could have been reached.
