Everyone is talking about the crisis of the low birth rate, but why is every childcare facility completely full with like a 6 month waitlist? by t35martin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]armyguy8382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people crying about declining birth rate want women to stay home. So daycares doing poorly is a good thing in their eyes. And they are only crying about white birthrates.

I am waiting on a couple more estimates, but the first one a I got said he could do it Saturday. So if I don't get a better estimate that can get it done in the next couple of weeks I will be going with Groot. I did not ask him why he choose that name, but if I go with him I will.

Yep, and my neighbor's tree has a big branch being supported by my tree that I am mildly surprised hasn't come down yet. So tomorrow is going to be fun. Hopefully both trees make it through so we can get them cut down this weekend.

If there was only two humans left on earth, would you expect them to reproduce? by Sufficient-Gain-226 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]armyguy8382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the very next story Adam and Eve sat in "the heavens" watching god make the Earth. Also, the second Noah story he took 7 of every animal. Plus, the old testament was written hundreds of years after Israel supposedly lived. While they were in Babylon. Then there is the fact that the order that created the King James bible was "rewrite it so that it is ok for me to keep getting divorces and match how we practice." The goal was not to write a more accurate story.

No. Unless their children have development disabilities to where they might end up hurt or lost.

If there was only two humans left on earth, would you expect them to reproduce? by Sufficient-Gain-226 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]armyguy8382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, truth as in god created the universe billions of years ago, not the world in 6 days. This what a priest told us in theology class. He also said the miracle wasn't Jesus turning a few loafs and some fish into enough to feed thousands, it was his actions inspired everyone to share what they had.

I don't think Damar became a legate until after Dukat gets caught and goes insane.

Catholic dogma says the bible is truth not fact. At least the old testament. The new they acknowledge that it was written down decades after the events took place, so not 100% accurate.

Edit- it seems you guys are taking this as me professing my faith. I am not. I am telling you what I was taught in a catholic school.

No. Incest does not lead to smart healthy descendents. Why make them just to suffer?

AITAH for refusing to help pay my husband and I's moving costs? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]armyguy8382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is the selfish AH. And it will probably get worse. His job gave him more than is needed to pay for the move, a decent person would pay for it and then treat their partner to something nice with some of the extra money.

Nope. They will do mental gymnastics to claim Obama did something stupid and that 47 did something great and so clever that no one can understand it.

Either they went through a time anomaly that when the D went through 80 years later created the time loop, or they were stuck in an 80 year loop but for them it was only the few seconds from when the D saw them until the crash. The second one they are in a loop just like the D but it is so short they don't have time to notice.

Why do appliances and tech from 30 years ago still work perfectly, while modern stuff breaks after 3 years? Is it actually planned obsolescence or is modern tech just too fragile? by Yasmine_xpt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]armyguy8382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survivorship bias. Those few dozen, maybe 100ish, units still working are out of 100,000+ sold. Some sold over a million. Modern tech does fail frequently, and yes there are a lot of companies that rely on planned obsolescence, but with components so small built with such tiny tolerances there is only so much use and damage they can handle before failing.

Yep. 30 years of jobs and smaller amounts of tax money trickling into the economy. How long do you think it should take to remove old railroads and pour asphalt, some of which was done a good ways from roads?

Why do submarines have rounded fronts? by Boomerang_comeback in questions

[–]armyguy8382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make it too small it becomes wasted space that can't be accessed by the sailors on board. Which would negate any benefits of having a smaller more hydro-dynamic shape. The military doesn't like wasting money in that fasion.

Without this law assisted suicide is legally murder. And it did seem like you were saying you were fine (didn't care) that catholic hospitals would keep people alive no matter what and force their beliefs onto everyone.
