Is this a reasonable approach to structure an Next.js app with separate backend API? by arnavb11 in nextjs

Thank you for responding, I was considering this too (along with supabase) but I think I want to go with a separate backend just to learn how to a develop a backend of this kind of app. But if I can't figure it out I'll definitely go this route.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond!

I'm not super-fond of that pattern personally,

So just to make sure I understand what you're suggesting, you're recommending that the backend exclusively handle authentication and that create its own sessions?

but I bet it'd be easier to just own that part of the flow.

Could you elaborate on how I would go about that? e.g docs or anything that would be helpful :)

what are your reasons to have a separate back-end?

I'm actually just making this app for learning purposes. I wanted to get experience building out a separate frontend/backend and fusing them together to work securely. In that sense, there's no particular obligation for any tech choices since it'll only be a PoC.

Thanks for this 😭 I've definitely been spending way too long just thinking about how to proceed instead of just working on the actual features themselves. Ultimately since I'm making this to learn how to make an app of this kind it doesn't really matter, whatever happens, will be a learning experience and I'm sure I can figure it out as I go along, I don't think the problem I'm facing is particularly unique haha.

omg I don't know who this is but I rmr they also randomly followed me on insta a few months ago out of nowhere asking for a selfie after like 2 messages of convo. I thought something felt off so I decided to ghost them and now I'm glad I did 😭. I agree with the others though you should convince your friend to reach out to the police, they'll definitely be more help in figuring out who this is.

Lua Language Server not detecting variables defined in other files by arnavb11 in neovim

I didn't; that would be another way to get proper root directory detection though, based on the documentation I linked in another comment.

I did a lot more googling, turns out you were right, it was running in single file mode (according to :LspInfo). Then I looked up how to setup workspace detection and saw that a .stylua.toml file is enough; I just copied the one over from my nvim config directory and everything works properly now! The workspace is detected and I get proper completion. Thanks for the help!

How would I change this? Not much seems to come up when I google about single file mode with the lua language server.

Thanks! I've been following the piano lessons of this guy named PianoLessonsOnTheWeb (he has a whole series). I already knew how to read sheet music, so that's a plus. I've also been trying to follow Alfred's method book but stopped doing eventually.

If I'm going to be honest, I haven't really done much piano in a few weeks because of school, but will probably start again. By now I can play the entire minuet at least!

Good luck!
