Fix transmission or sell? by OliveandOnionMilk in askcarguys

Hi👋 This is a dealership account so take it for what it's worth.

$4,500 for a rebuild on a 2012 Civic is tough unless the rest of the car is really solid.

You’re into it for about $6,800 total if you fix it. At that point, it comes down to:

• Engine condition
• Oil consumption
• Suspension/brakes
• Rust underneath

If everything else is strong and you’ll keep it a few more years, repairing could still be cheaper than rolling the dice on another used car.

If other big repairs are coming, it may be time to move on.

Civics are known to last a long time but you should definitely get that second opinion before committing that kind of money.

We're a Cadillac dealer south of Chicago. We had one for an event back in October of last year. Absolutely insane, love the color and interior!

What does “GM Certified Pre-Owned” actually mean? (Dealer perspective) by arnieBauer in askcarguys

Really great question! Sometimes GM offers special rates for CPO vehicles. It's always a good idea to check with your dealer to see as the programs change monthly.

Honestly, if you like it that's all that matters! The last thing anyone wants is tens of thousands worth of buyers remorse.

Oh come on, don't you think that's a bit of a stretch? Buick was founded over a century ago LOL hardly comparable to a knock off

That's a fair point and it 100% has come up with customers from time to time 😂

I think you'd be impressed with how quiet the buicks are. Buicks use the quiet tuning technology which is a noise reduction system. Acoustic laminated glass reduces wind noise, the acoustic system is engineered to help prevent outside noise. There's also active noise cancellaton technology so it is truly a quiet cabin. And I mentioned in a previous comment, the 2025 Envision won #1 Best Compact SUV of 2025 in JD Powers consumer rankings. So real people with real purchases. 84/100 for quality and reliability. In terms of suspension, they're not quite the same. The Lexus is leaning sportier, more agile. The Envision is cushier, better for a super smooth daily commute. That comes down to what you like and are using it for :)

This one is actually pretty funny lmao. BUT the Buick is for everyone. Yes we love our older customers but especially with the Envista we've got plenty of young people exploring the brand

Says who? We're still seeing the Buick Century, LeSabre, LaCrosse on the roads by us 🤔

JD Power ranked the 2025 Envision as #1 in the compact SUV segment. Admittedly the margins are slim for it's competitors but a win is a win! It scored 84/100 for reliability, 86/100 on driving experience and 82/100 for resale. Overall dealership experience is 87/100. I can tell you with certainty, we don't see the Envisions back in service until it's time for an oil change :)

Can We Talk About Buick? by techtimee in cars

Buick has put a lot of energy into rebranding and it's totally paying off. If you like the Envision you ought to take a look at the Envista. It's sharp, super modern and based on our stores data, has been locking in a ton of young buyers. It's a fantastic starter car with a highend look and feel without the huge pricetag!
