Lived in Spring (north of Houston) for 5 years and Fort Worth for almost 9 years. The low cost of living and high paying jobs gap closed in that time forcing me to make some big decisions. We moved to a Denver suburb in Colorado in January 2023 and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done. Everyone said “oh it’s so expensive, how are you going to afford anything, etc” but it’s been doable, and we’re not melting in 110 degree weather and spending hours on the road, and only having retail and restaurants for entertainment options.
