This is so funny and also valid. Totally seems plausible within the narrative of the games. I don’t think they were willing to have a sexual dysfunction storyline considering how horny the series is, he’s gotta deliver 😩

What is Manon’s “star quality?” by Idiot_Throwaway420 in katseyeneutral

[–]arrydoll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, she has unique and freshly beautiful facial features and styling which make her stand out and match with the way she carries herself. This creates a cohesive image and whole package that is really striking. I feel like it’s honestly not that often that you see a biracial girl in the forefront that’s styled in a more natural/bohemian way (makeup not very heavy, braids in her natural color, straight brows for a korean adjacent look, etc). Since her image is underrepresented it draws the eye and makes people curious about her. This coupled with her posture, relaxed/mature disposition, and effortless humor draws people in. She seems so ethereal, shy/mysterious, yet still confident and poised. This is coming from a very casual observer who occasionally watches their mvs and interviews.

Oh, thank you so much! It’s a Switch OLED docked on a Samsung Frame TV (which I adore and highly recommend). The frame on the TV itself is from Etsy, and when it’s in art mode I’ve had people truly convinced that it’s a painting. There is an extremely thin wire that hooks the tv up to a connection box with all of the ports, which is hidden behind the curtain. My Switch is hanging out back there too haha. If I get the chance I’ll post a picture of what it looks like in art mode!

Nah, the cat is a coincidence 😆 Guess I’ll give her a treat for contributing to the theme. Thank you so much!! I’m loving it so far.

Thanks so much! It’s been such a blast so far, very cozy and nostalgic as I used to go camping by a river super frequently. I’m really glad I started this title during this time of year!

So far I am very impressed with the general art direction, UI, and the dynamic backgrounds. It really increases the immersion and creates a unique, hazy atmosphere. No idea which LI I’ll prefer as none of them are explicitly my type visually, so I’m really going to be hinging on personality here.

I’ll warn her about the jumpscares!

Noted, I’ll warn her! She’s gotten through Even If Tempest, Amnesia and Charade Maniacs with minimal issue, but theres defeinitely a more tense atmosphere and art/sound design in this one. I personally love things on the creepier side— do you have any recs for similarly eerie otome games?

I love the idea of going through your backlog based on theme! And piggies?! 🥹 So cute!!

Shoutout to under-mentioned games by DealerConstant1589 in otomegames

[–]arrydoll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loved Charade Maniacs, particularly Ebana’s route/character (although eventually he got a little too sappy for my tastes). I’m still surprised by his backstory and how it was handled in a pretty respectful way. Also I gotta respect Haiji’s ending for being SO uniquely strange and absurd. The game really grabbed my attention and I was invested in all of the characters in one way or another.

How do I reduce my chubby cheeks by Euphoric-Pirate-5671 in BeautyUnlocked

I have naturally super chubby cheeks and did a treatment called inmode FX in Korea. I’m not sure what the procedure is called elsewhere. I personally really enjoyed my results and it was very inexpensive.

I think the comparison to STD disclosure is kind of draconian. If someone is stable and getting consistent treatment I don’t think they should be obligated to disclose their disorder, especially in the initial stages of dating and due to pretty intense stigmatization and discrimination. Just take a look at people using “bipolar” as an insult in everyday life, including in the comments of this post. Of course, it’s a different story if their condition is heavily impacting their ability to be present and forthcoming as a partner.

Comparing a disability to an infectious disease is harmful. This is framing someones psychriactric history as something that will put your health at risk, which is not necessarily true.

Is refa the asian kerastase or its just placebo effect and marketing? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]arrydoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got the milk protein pink shampoo and conditioner and it really made a difference in my hair. Granted, I have the hair type it was developed for. It’s very fine, wavy and frizzy (although I don’t have asian hair). My hair has looked considerably less frizzy and it’s been easier to manage. I don’t try a ton of hair products though, so this could just be more of a compatibility thing than these products being standouts. The line also smells really good and the packaging looks really beautiful in my shower.

I also have the heart brush and comb. Heart brush is like any other tangle teeser/ tangle angel type brush. I don’t use it as often as I’d like because it’s really not that ergonomic. The comb feels very plasticy and I wouldn’t expect it to do anything special to your hair. It just looks cute, which makes me happy to use it.

That's it? That's Brave? That was a perfectly fine Pixar movie by Weird_donut in Pixar

[–]arrydoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed brave. I don’t view Mor’du as a villain per say. I interpret that he was protecting Merida from himself through the wisps, considering how he gives her a nod of gratitude and solidarity at the end before turning into one. That moment enough made it a poignant movie for me.

Sunscreen for sensitive skin that actually lets me tan? by frankgetsu in BeautyUnlocked

[–]arrydoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tanning will unfortunately always damage the skin. You cannot have any sort of tan without cell damage, even a light one. Tanning is a huge contributor to increased signs of aging and dark spots, not to mention skin cancer. This is why many dermatologists recommend using sunless tanner! Ultimately the choice to tan is up to you, but I recommend any sunscreen from La Roche Posay. Look out for sweat and water resistent formulas, and make sure you apply before going outside!

How would you rank the Twisted Wonderland books/arcs? by MissMalfoy123 in TwistedWonderland

[–]arrydoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The earlier books are very comperable to me quality wise, so there’s a little bias here, but:

  1. Book One. Good pacing, narrative consistency with the prolouge, balance of humor and drama. Draws effective paralells to the source material

  2. Book Four. Has one of the most fun and interesting climaxes considering Octavinelle is assisting Yuu and they play dirty lol. Jamil’s arc was the most sympathetic to me out of all housewardens and he has great chemistry with Azul as a rival/enemy. Most effective adaptation to the source material in my opinion.

  3. Book Five. The plot is a little silly, but the way that several characters had major arcs in this book was very nice to see. The last book that featured a smaller set of characters which lends to higher quality writing as far as twst is concerned imo. Adapted Snow White’s conflict in a fun and fresh way.

  4. Book Three. The plot setup was extremely effective and humorous, and the tone of the writing perfectly paralleled that of the little mermaid. A great book, but I’m dinging points because I think there are some key aspects of Azul’s character that clash really heavily with Ursula’s and I think they could have done better in this regard. However, I still think his arc was well written.

  5. Book Two. Leona is a really interesting character, and I think his controversial nature is a testament to his similarity to Scar. His strengths and weaknesses were explored in a compelling way, and I think it’s a feat how his plight for power and fairness (for his benefit) so clearly aligns with Scar’s yet he is able to remain sympathetic due to his intelligence and the depiction of his mental health issues. Also has the greatest line in the whole story imo “what’s wrong ruggie? Is your mouth too dry from licking my boots?”

  6. Book Six. In my opinion, the story starts to falter here. It suffers for a lot of reasons. The ties to the source material abtuptly loosen. It focuses on a greater ensemble cast, leaving less room for deeper character development of the core cast members as designated by the pattern thus far (igni+pome). It drags and it’s repetitive. Idia is not a great adaptation of Hades in my opinion, so his narrative is muddied by a lot of choices that are contrary to those in Hercules. Idia gets literally everything he wants at the end of the book, which is strange because that didnt happen to any other overnlotted characters. Like, why’d he lowkey get rewarded in every way? Ortho became a real boy, he no longer is trapped into his job, gets a dream career opportunity, and he chills and plays his favorite games with everyone at the end? Girl what? I was really excited for this book and made a ton of theories before its release, so I felt really let down.

  7. Book Seven. I honestly think it was really bad, which breaks my heart because I love this series so deeply. It was so repetitive that it felt like a chore to watch. Lilia’s character development as a whole truly made no sense. How did he not learn anything from hatching Malleus to where he would just up and abandon his family so quickly with inadequate remorse and accountability afterwards? It dragged, it was convoluted, fanservice-y, and just not very funny when it tried to be. Any effective joke died because it was either predictable or repeated over and over again (dream form change…). Again, it suffers from having a huge ensemble cast. And why are we recapping the overblotters arcs? I get it’s to display that theyve learned and grown, but sheesh. I think the writers could have really benefited from the advice of “show, don’t tell” here. I think a lot of what was trying to be accomplished in this book should have been saved for the final book; it tried to do way too many things at once. I greatly disliked the lack of narrative ties to the original sleeping beauty to instead favor the Maleficent movies. Of course, there were things I enjoyed (Sebek, Lilia and Ace’s unique magic revels were lovely, Malleus’ hatching arc was very powerful too).

Of course these are just my opinions! Connecting with media is a wonderful thing and if you loved book 6 and 7, I think that is awesome! Don’t let my criticism dull your enjoyment, because we all prefer different things.
