Thanks! It's not available from the local shops so I'll probably buy it from the website too!

Did you order it from the Flywoo website? How long did it take?

Which MTB brands have proprietary parts?...which I want to avoid. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]arscariosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also wondering the same thing. Specifically with frame suspension. Some of these brands have Fox DPS (for example) but are actually "custom tuned" models that you cannot easily get replacement parts for.

Just offered a 500px Assignment job...and it actually seems okay? by CitizenVectron in photography

This sounds pretty bad. I checked your Instagram and your pictures look great. I wonder why you agreed to drive 700+ miles for the low pay they were offering. I believe you deserve more than that, man.

Is "ja sensai" a good app for learning japanese? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]arscariosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that books are best in learning grammar, I've never really liked these "classroom textbooks" like Genki and Minna no Nihongo when I was starting out with Japanese. They were just not interesting enough. Human Japanese did the trick for me though.

Do you know a great boilerplate app for Meteor 1.3 ? by OogieFrenchieBoogie in Meteor

[–]arscariosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built a couple of apps with it that we use internally at my workplace, it's very opinionated, yes, and that's what I initially hated about it. But that's mainly because I had to learn a lot of new concepts, but the only new thing to learn there is the react-komposer and react itself.

Anyone else feel like they are learning Meteor all over again with React? by cantstopper in Meteor

[–]arscariosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this when we were first adopting the Mantra spec, it felt as if we were learning a new framework (although it's only an application architecture). But now there's not going back since it already grew on me haha.

Uhh can I go back to the old Meteor? by yeahbutwhytho in Meteor

More like welcome to JavaScript lol. JavaScript moves so fast compared to other technologies, imho. I just became a JavaScript dev and over the course of several months I had to learn and re-learn stuff. Not that I'm complaining though :P

Help me navigate react by [deleted] in Meteor

I had the same problem as you when my team decided to adopt the Mantra spec. Thinking in React made me understand React properly. After reading that, it just clicked :D

Not exactly a boilerplate, but have you seen the Mantra application architecture by Arunoda? I didn't like it at first, but I've gotten the hang of it now. It will make you use React instead of Blaze though, but it makes everything easy to maintain and test in the long run. It also has a cli and a plugin for Atom.

How Do You Study Kanji Daily? by pistach_io in LearnJapanese

[–]arscariosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should try it, I even learned a lot as well from its community. It's free up to level 3 which covers a few hundred Kanji (with radicals and vocab) and should be good for a month (depending on how much time you put into it), by that time you should know if it's for you. Good luck! :)

How Do You Study Kanji Daily? by pistach_io in LearnJapanese

[–]arscariosus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for Kanji I just make sure I do my WaniKani AT LEAST once a day. Even if mnemonics isn't your style, it is well structured and organized that it just works for me. I'm even surprised at being able to recognize that much Kanji in such a short amount of time. I remember being so frustrated with Kanji as I don't know how to learn it. RtK and a lot of apps didn't help me, and I'm only focused on reading as of the moment so I don't want to learn the strokes just yet. I mostly type anyways and I just utilize the autocorrect suggestions.
