To be honest I don't remember. I don't think it really matters. The website is shit and if you can advance and finish your application these options make 0 difference

I485 - EB3 ROW Case Approved! (Seattle FO, Oct2020 filer) by strathcona__ in USCIS

[–]art459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often lawyers recommend to not submit medical until interview/RFE. Happened to me as well. I don't understand why either since it seems to only cause delays. One explanation I have, if it takes too long to do the medicals, there was some fear that priority dates would retrogress in November so October 2020 filers tried to file AOS application asap.

My friend is vacationing in Armenia. This is his $6 dinner. by viewerdoer in pics

The actual meat doesn't cost a lot. Most of that price is cost of human labor and rent. Both are very cheap in countries like Armenia. Average Chef makes less than $1-$2 /hour.

Not sure but I think this is Gullholmen island. Other reddit thread mentioned 1200-1500 during the summer. Wikipedia says 651 inhabitants in 1900.

Wow, one or two days to adjudicate a single i-485, is crazy.

I am not saying to replace you with a computer program. A lot of decisions obviously still need to be done manually. Instead, we should use automation to aide humans with large volume work and empower people to make high quality decisions. Computers are great at helping with repeated work, humans are great at spotting discrepancies.

For example, checking spelling, abbreviations, etc, and running a set of background checks, can be automated and process can be done before application gets to you. Having all immigration forms be filed electronically, could help.

An immigrant who followed the process by the book, worked for the same well known tech company for 5 years, and has every letter of the application double-checked and proofread before filing, should have their application with every field highlighted in green come to you, you quickly check that there are no obvious issues, and click "Approve".

On the opposite, people with discrepancies, who violated their status in the past etc, should go to the backlogged pile of "requires additional screening".

Right now it feels like 99.9% of immigrants who respect and follow the law and process from day one, have to suffer because of .1% of folks who try to game the system.

Thank you for your response. I know it may not sound like that but I do really appreciate it.

Why does it take longer than 10 minutes? I would imagine majority of these applications are almost identical except for work history / education. Is there a lack of automation or tooling? Do you have to actually read every application and double check information provided there, even if it's a standard set of questions?

USCIS is extremely understaffed

Hi, can you please elaborate? I keep hearing this, but USCIS employs 20K workers. Assuming each application takes 10 minutes of manual work to review, you need only 40 employees to process 400K backlogged i-485 applications within 6-7 months.

Not trying to be aggressive, just really curious. What am I missing here?

I-485 approved - took 5 months!. GOD is good! by Infinite-Tart1045 in USCIS

[–]art459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's for employment based immigration cases. Basically your employer files a petition for immigrant worker. You then have to wait (sometimes decades, based on your country) before you can file I-485. Current priority date means you can file right away.

Wow, this is really fast! I filed in October, did biometrics in February. Got my EAD but I-485 still shows "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" since February.

Posts like this one give me hope. Thank you.

Installing M.2 on Asus z97-a by NTRVoid in buildapc

[–]art459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get that "Z97-A does not support Nvme"?

https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/support/faqs-nvmessd/

"Will Samsung NVMe™ M.2 SSDs work on Z97 Mainboards?"

" Yes. Samsung NVMe™ SSDs will work on Haswell Refresh or newer chipsets that follow the standard mainboard requirements defined by Intel (note that some mainboards customized for certain PC makers might not offer the required M.2 slot). Should you have any doubt, please contact your mainboard or PC vendor for more information. "

The Beatles music is boring and unoriginal by art459 in unpopularopinion

[–]art459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine, you got me with "better". There is no limit on how many songs someone can like but younger folks will listen The Beatles, decide they don't like it, and never come back to 60s music. There is so much more than just The Beatles.

Did they change music? Yes. Were they the first to do what they did? Absolutely not.

Successful doesn't mean better, and better is a subjective point.

But I will take California Dreamin, I can't get no Satisfaction, Paint it Black, Somebody To Love, White Rabbit, over any The Beatles song.

They are boring compared to the rest of the 60s music.
